Some of you already know about the magic and wonder of Billy and others of you may not.
I was very fortunate to cross paths with this young man several years ago when i was casting for a short film for in Maine. I was taken aback by this unique individual who stood out amongst the herd of other teeneagers at the local public high school. Everyone had something to say about Billy, many “labels” were thrown at him but I wanted to see the world through his eyes, I wanted to learn about who he was beyond the labels. That is what the film BILLY THE KID is, an experiment of just BEING with someone, letting them dictate their own narrative, following the breadcrumbs of life, and making poetry out of that. May we all find the magic and poetry in everyday living, and for those of you that choose to watch the film, may Billy’s vulnerability, wisdom and humor open your heart a little bit more.

The day I met the Farmer family we were doing an open call for season one of Euphoria in a church basement. It was the end of the day, and we were wrapping up feeling somewhat defeated as there weren’t many “findings” or even attendees, (surprise!) as no one really knew anything about the show yet.
Just as I was leaving, I saw this group of magical children enter the church on their way to collect food from the church’s donation program. The church was closing so they were focused on getting in just in time. I was mesmerized, I had to talk to them.
Cut to, Zhalia is now starring in Topside which premiered at the Venice Film festival last week! The beauty of the right time, right moment, and worlds colliding. It was our discovery, but the directors Logan and Celine had such passion and dedication, and through their guidance, Zhalia was brought from that church basement to the big screen. It was not easy to say the LEAST.
It is such an honor to be a conduit for someone and hand them off to artists that CARE so much. Congrats to all!
My friend Louie is looking to rent his beautiful 2BR Clinton Hill apartment starting in August or Sept. It's super charming, light and on the second floor of a small, converted mansion. Venditti started her NYC based casting agency, JV8INC, in 1998 with an objective to expand the boundaries of beauty through diversity in casting. She has traveled the world casting actors, models and “real people” for advertising, fashion, and film. She has worked alongside photographers such as David Sims, Bruce Weber and Richard Avedon, and directors such as Spike Jonze, Ryan Gosling and Andrea Arnold.
