This is Broadway! We were thrilled to be at the historic unveiling of sculptor Alison Saar's Lorraine Hansberry statue in Duffy Square on Thursday. The ceremony featured remarks from Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage, whose work we're proud to represent through our imprint Dramatists Play Service.
The 2022-23 national tour of Saar's statue marks the launch of The Lorraine Hansberry Initiative, which aims to raise public awareness of the full breadth of Hansberry's work and teachings. The Initiative includes a scholarship fund to help support female and nonbinary dramatic writers of color currently attending graduate school by covering their living expenses with the goal of giving them the financial freedom to follow in Lorraine's footsteps by pursuing their craft. Learn more about the organization's incredible work at lorrainehansberryinitiative.org/.
We're incredibly proud to represent Richard Greenberg's TAKE ME OUT which received this year's Tony for Best Revival of a Play.
TAKE ME OUT, like many titles up for this year's awards, tells the important story of oppression many LGBTQIA+ athletes experience just as much now as they did when the show was first staged 20 years ago.

Playbill: "The Educational Theatre Association has unveiled its list of the most-produced plays, musicals, and short plays in U.S. high schools during the 2021-2022 school year, the result of a survey that has been conducted annually since 1938.
The most produced play of the year was CLUE — a title the work has held for three years. ... Playwrights Don Zolidis and Jonathan Rand continue to dominate the most-produced short plays, with Rand's CHECK PLEASE in the top spot as it was last year."
We're honored to represent eight of the ten most-produced short plays. Explore these and thousands of other titles now on playscripts.com and read the full press release on Playbill at bit.ly/BLMostProduced2022.

We were overwhelmed by the response to our announcement of the Broadway Licensing Standing Ovation Grant, which offered an exceptional educational theatre program the chance to receive $5000 and a feature in our 2022-2023 Educational Catalog. For National Museum Day, we're spotlighting George C. Wolfe's THE COLORED MUSEUM.
Tony Award®-winning actor Billy Porter, who directed Huntington Theatre's 2015 production, had this to say about the show: "THE COLORED MUSEUM came into my life at a very formative time. I was a teenager longing for more than just one type of 'Black' representation in the creative storytelling landscape. George Wolfe's unique and irreverent voice of inclusion ignited the fire of possibility inside of me and set me on a creative journey that included stretching myself beyond what, up until then, I thought was possible for a little Black gay boy from the ghetto. I am forever grateful."
