🌍 Everyday should be Earth Day.

πŸ“Œ This year's theme is:

🌐 "Invest in your planet."

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡³ The recent UN report (the link is in the comments section) says time is running out.

πŸ₯΅ We are in a climate crisis, and when air pollution and other environmental disasters strike, everyone is affected: in several cases, it is women who are the highest casualties. We see that migration and displacement bring the heightened risks of serious health issues such as cancers, heart, and respiratory diseases, sexual and domestic violence, and other human rights abuses and violations.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡³ "No one should be left behind."

πŸ“£ We have only one planet.

πŸ’™ Let us love her and keep her safe.

It is National Minority Health Month and this year's theme is:

"Give your community a boost."

This theme aims to highlight the racial and ethnic barriers that continue to exist and stand in the way of communities wishing to get vaccinated.

We must go beyond the usual "jaw-jaw" and seek actionable solutions in all spheres of our healthcare systems: local, community, state, national, and the broader society as a whole.

❓Did you know ‡️

πŸ“Œ That there is an estimated 600% increase in the incidence of esophageal adenocarcinoma, or EAC?

πŸ“Œ That according to the American Cancer Society, in 2022 it is estimated that there will be more than 20,000 new cases of esophageal cancer?

πŸ“Œ That there will be 16,000 deaths of this disease in the US in 2022?

⭐ My amazing guest, Dana Deighton, Associate Director, Outreach & Strategic Partnerships, Scripps Research is a power house, and we were so stoked to have her collaborate with us for this insightful #throwbackepisode

⭐ Dana chronicles her experience with esophageal cancer, even though she started out having no known symptoms of this rare disease. She had to keep seeking answers to her unexplained bouts of fatigue until...

πŸ“£ Dana's sound bite and call to action is this:

πŸ—£οΈ "The more people you speak to, the better armed you are to ask questions of your physician."

President Biden announced a relaunch of the Cancer Moonshot Initiative last month to reduce the cancer mortality rates by at least 50%. So glad, psycho-oncology will be on the radar, as this is an area I am passionate about.

πŸ“Œ Psycho-Oncology is the care for the emotional and social well-being of cancer patients.

It is why I am excited to join experts and distinguished panelists to discuss the important role this area of care will play in the initiative.

Do join us on Wednesday April 6th by registering for this important webinar titled:

"Cancer Moonshot: Where does Psycho-Oncology fit in?"

πŸ«‚ If you or anyone you know is diagnosed with cancer or any other chronic disease, don't go it alone. Be a part of a close-knit community.

πŸ“Œ Colon Cancer is preventable.

🩸 A simple blood test can tell you if you need to be worried. Anemia is a sign that something is not quite right.

πŸ’™ Colon Cancer is the number two cause of cancer deaths and the third of the most common cancers. Colon cancer among much younger people is rising and this is concerning.

πŸ’™ Colon Cancer is preventable and screening can be done either with a sensitive test that looks for signs of cancer in a person’s stool (a stool-based test) or with an exam that looks at the colon and re**um. (a visual exam)

πŸ’™ As an ally, and being Colon Cancer Awareness Month, we are delighted to host a fellow cancer advocate who has created a solid, global network of cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers with a focus on men.

♂️ Why? Because we all know that men hardly open up about their health concerns until it is too late!

⭐ Trevor Maxwell has been living with stage IV colon cancer since March 2018 and has undergone four major surgeries, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and a clinical trial up until now.

πŸŽ™οΈIn January of 2020, Trevor launched the Man Up to Cancer platform. It includes a website, podcast, social media channels, and an insanely engaged Facebook group called Man Up to Cancer-The Howling Place. This group is a haven for all men impacted by cancer: patients, survivors, and caregivers who support one another throughout their cancer journeys.

IT CAN BE VERIFIED.. Ma'am Grace Bassey, I've known you as an award winning advocate and fighter against Cancers. Please what would you advice on the case below of a woman with advance Breast Cancer needing support..? For several weeks, a lady receiving treatment at the University College Hospital, IBADAN has been unsuccessfully trying to get me on phone. She finally did today and I asked her to put it in writing via Whatsapp and her FULL CONSENT for me to share her case. Which she did. Here's her story... "Good evening sir, Please I am Emonyon Rosemary from Edo state. I've been battling with breast cancer for the past 3years. I've taken many Courses of Chemotherapy and dosage of Radiotherapy. Currently in UCH Ibadan, Radiotherapy Ward. Emonyon Rosemary. Treatment is expensive. We have spent all we have. Yet I was told this morning that it’s spreading to my lungs and bones, and that I still need to continue Chemotherapy/Radiotherapy to see how it can help prevent further spread. Now I have no helper anymore.😭😭😭 Help me. ZENITH BANK 2087531051 Emonyon Rosemary God almighty will bless you with long life and in good health for all my sister told me about you. It gave me small hope." My thoughts I really wish we can get anyone or foundation who would not send her money but PAY DIRECTLY INTO THE HOSPITAL ACCOUNTS FOR ALL HER TREATMENT. That will make me remove her account number immediately from this post. Lucky enough, I am sure there are lots of doctors and an associate professor of yours in UCH. They can be used to verify this specific case. The lady told me there is no metastasis to the brain as at today. Friends, I believe we are mostly for the support of the weak amongst us. Just they way we are weak and being helped by God in certain areas of our lives. Let it Thank you.
