What do robots mean for the future of marriage?

I, for one, will be first in line for a humanoid housekeeping robot. I don’t cook, and let’s be honest—nobody *wants* to clean. So when Rosie Robot 1.0 drops, I’m plugging her in before the box hits the floor.

But once these robots start looking human, speaking gently, and doing dishes without sighing dramatically… things are going to shift. Big time.

For centuries, men have systemically trapped women into doing unpaid labor—by banning abortions, blocking access to bank accounts, locking us out of decent-paying jobs, and calling it "traditional roles".

But women aren’t having it anymore. Marriage rates are falling. Birth rates are tanking. Women are choosing financial freedom, emotional stability, and freedom from being a man's therapist/maid/nanny combo. The tradwife influencers might be making sourdough look s*xy on TikTok, but IRL, more and more women are asking: *what if I just… didn’t?*

Now add humanoid robots into the mix. The kind that can keep a house spotless, make a perfect almond matcha, and listen without interrupting. Will people still bother to date—especially if they’re not looking to reproduce or split a mortgage? Will men who no longer “need” a wife for domestic labor still pursue relationships, or will they retreat into obedient robot fantasy worlds where no one ever says “we need to talk”?

Will women still want kids—or will they choose freedom, travel, and maybe a kid later in life with a s***m donor and a robo-nanny that doesn’t call their time with the kids "babysitting"?

When a robot is all you need for household and emotional labor… relationships will have to evolve. Love will have to be built on something other than convenience and control. And maybe that’s exactly what we’ve needed all along.

So what do you think— Once we have robots doing the grunt work, will people still want each other? Or will we all quietly disappear into our robot-staffed, drama-free bungalows?

🔥 Ever wonder why the world keeps nudging women to stay “modest, polite and skinny”? Ever notice how little girls are coached to “sit nicely,” “use your inside voice,” and “never brag”—while their brothers are cheered on for being loud, bold, and fearless? That’s patriarchy in action—watering down our wild and making us take up less space so power stays put.
Here’s its pocket-sized playbook:

1️⃣ Tiny body, tiny threat – We’re told to diet, cross our legs, and take up as little space as possible. Reality check: the more physically at ease we are, the more the room has to make space for our ideas.
2️⃣ Soft voice, soft impact – “Speak gently, don’t interrupt.” Translation: let louder voices dominate. Try this instead: speak at your natural volume, skip the “sorry,” and watch how respect follows.
3️⃣ Safe dreams, safe status quo – We’re nudged toward roles that support rather than lead. But big goals create big change—so aim for the corner office, the invention, the headline.
4️⃣ Polite emotions, polite world – Anger gets called “dramatic,” ambition “bossy,” passion “too much.” Those labels aren’t about you; they’re about control. Feel the feeling, use the fuel.
5️⃣ Accidental success, accidental respect – Praise us for “luck,” not skill, so no one feels threatened by our talent. Claim your wins out loud; confidence is contagious.

🔥 Patriarchy hands us buckets of doubt & shame, whispering “be smaller.” But guess what? The rulebook is flammable. Every time we speak up, share resources, or celebrate each other, we throw another log on that blaze. Every time you uncross your legs, speak your opinions, dream huge, show real emotion, have a loud idea, big dream, educate yourself, and share a proud victory, another page of that manual turns to ash. Fan your flame, light another sister’s, and watch the darkness retreat. Our collective blaze lights new paths for the next gen of girls to sprint down—no shrinking required. 🔥

So: straighten that spine, un-mute that dream, wear the color that makes you feel like sunrise, and let’s raise the temperature together. ✨

Which of these five 'rules' are you torching today? Let’s spark an inferno in the comments! 👇

A decade ago, decent female leads were rarer than clean subway seats—only 12% of top-grossing films let a woman steer the plot. Jump from 2014 to 2024 and that share rocketed to 42%.

Love the glow-up (but hold the confetti...)

Behind the lens it’s still a bro-fest: women directed just 16% of last year’s biggest releases—and only 6% had total control. Quality and demand aren't the problem; s*xism and cash flow is, since 91% of film financing decisions are made by men. Follow the (lack-of) money and the plot twist appears (try shooting Marvel-level VFX on an oat-latte budget and tell me it’s a “talent gap”):
💰 0% (yeah, NONE!) of 2024’s streaming films with budgets over $100 M had a woman in the director’s chair, and men locked down 73% of all film-financing deals.
💰 On TV, 79% of shows from white women creators were stuck under $3 M an episode, while white-male peers landed the only $10 M-plus budgets.

Despite the lack of funding, gender-balanced movies still earned more than 2x the worldwide box office of guy-heavy sets (yeah, they are twice as popular and make double the $$$!) And when a production team is at least half women, the payoff nearly triples: average worldwide grosses hit $294 M versus $118 M for bro-heavy sets.

But Oscars have a clear gatekeeping gender-bias, with 66% of the voting members being men, hence the Best Director Oscar has only crowned a grand total of three women in almost a century.

Women are finally leading on screen—but men still gatekeep the money and the awards. Despite the fact that female-led films and shows consistently outperform at the box office and in streaming stats, women remain shut out of the biggest budgets, decision-making power, and most of the trophies.

If we want more bold, complex, world-shifting stories by and about women, we can’t wait for the industry to catch up. We have to keep demanding it with our attention. Your watchlist is a vote. Use it.

From fairy-tale mirrors that crown only one “fairest of them all” to tabloids shrieking “Who wore it better?”, we’re bombarded with rankings, contests, and beauty scorecards designed to make womanhood feel like a cut-throat casting call for a single role. Patriarchy plants a quiet virus of insecurity that turns sisters into rivals and scatters our collective power.⁣

Here’s the plot twist: jealousy isn’t in our DNA—it’s mass-produced social conditioning. Every time we refuse to compete, we delete a line of that script and draft a new ending. Celebrate her promotion. Share her post. Hype her art. When we amplify instead of compare, our voices merge into a chorus too loud to ignore.⁣

Shadow’s verdict: pricey arm-candy is “meh,” fruit bowl is “mission-critical.” 🐈‍⬛🍑 That blink of feline wisdom reminded me how easily shiny things crowd out what really sustains us.

I used to sprint on caffeine and FOMO, convinced that downtime was optional--until it really wasn't. Spoiler: burnout clashes with every outfit. These days I clock in for quiet like it’s a salaried gig and do my dopamine shopping in second-hand treasure troves (thrift-fluencer? Guilty 😅). The bags still cameo, but the headline is plants on my plate and white space on my calendar.

Lake Como inventory check:
• Real fuel (plants, not Prada) 🌱
• Experiences that twist my brain in the best way 🗺️
• Calm that keeps the mental Wi-Fi from buffering 🛋️

Some nights in NYC blur into legend. Like that evening Gerard Butler gallantly offered to walk me home—only for us to detour into a West Village house party we definitely weren’t invited to (spoiler: we got kicked out 😅).

Lining these experiences up for my memoir has a grounding effect: once the moments sit side by side, every messy detour slots into place, and the bigger story—along with my own footing—suddenly feels clear.

What’s the most unexpected turn your night has ever taken?

🤫📚 Ever notice how the stories that scare censors are the ones that set our imaginations free? Whenever a book lands on a “banned” list, it rockets to the top of my reading list—because if it rattles the status quo, it’ll probably rattle my thoughts in the best way possible. These pages question power, celebrate messy humanity, and refuse to whisper—and I’m here for the roar. So let’s treat censorship like a curated reading list and turn taboo tales into sparks that expand empathy and fuel change.⁣

💡 Your turn: Which banned or challenged book cracked your mind wide open—and why?

Feminism isn’t a “nice-to-have”—it’s an economic no-brainer 🧐

🩺 Health R&D: Less than 2% of global medical-research funding targets all women's health including the study of women's hormones, pregnancy, endometriosis, and all other female health needs—leaving $1 trillion in potential profit on the table.

🏦 Business: Women own about 30% of U.S. companies but receive only 16% of conventional small-business loans, 4% of loan dollars, and 4% of federal contract dollars.

🚀 Venture capital: Female-only founding teams land barely 2% of VC funding, while male founders scoop up 98%. Ironically, women-led startups return 2× more revenue per dollar invested.

👑 C-suite: Women hold just 9% of Fortune 500 CEO seats, but 87% of their companies post above-average profits (vs 78% for male-led firms) and pull in $26 B average revenue vs $20 B under men.

💸 Charitable aid: Women & girls get just 2% of the charity $ while men absorb the other 98%. Yet women plough 90% of every dollar they earn back into their families and the community (and spend the remaining 10% on their own education), versus only 35% for men (who tend to spend it on things like gambling, booze and prostitution).

These gaps aren’t about women’s ability—they’re the predictable result of irrational s*xist bias and misogynistic men deciding where money flows. Patriarchy sustains its power by keeping women suppressed—so we stay reliant on men, stripped of strength, and locked out of prosperity.

On top of all this, it simply costs more to be a woman. Because of the “pink tax,” women spend about 30% more out-of-pocket on prescriptions than men, and we're dinged on nearly everything, from paying >54% more for a haircut, to facing an average 7% markup on everyday products, rising to 13% for personal-care items. It's a patriarchal financial burden that drains roughly $1,300 a year from the average woman.

Why is it like this?
Because the people who control capital—aid committees, loan desks, VC partnerships—are still overwhelmingly male, money flows through a “like-backs-like” pipeline:
➡️Representation gap: Nearly nine-in-ten VC firms have no female investing partner, so decisions reflect male-dominated networks and norms.
➡️Stereotype & question bias: Investors ask men promotion-focused (“How big can this get?”) questions but grill women with prevention-focused ones, leading to far smaller cheques.
➡️Implicit bias in lending: Bank officers demand extra guarantors from female borrowers even when applications are identical, raising women’s cost of capital.
➡️Cultural norms & social conditioning: Across 61 countries, women-led firms receive 39% smaller loans than equally profitable male peers—an inefficiency traced to bias, not performance.

In short, a patriarchal “gatekeeping loop” of male control, homophily, and ingrained stereotypes keeps capital locked in the boys’ club and starves women of the resources their ideas have already proven they can multiply.

🔧 Fixing it means speaking up, sharing these stats, and calling out bias—because silence helps the entrenched status quo.

Which stat fires you up the most, and what’s one thing you’ll do this week to flip the script? Let me know below! 👇

When I pack my carry-on, I'm casting a vote. Every product we choose is a tiny referendum on the kind of world we want to explore. 🌍✈️

Over the years I’ve swapped the single-use minis for low-waste, zero-chemical formulas that nurture my body and the planet (and no, this is *not* sponsored - this is what I actually use and love!):

🌿 Benecos Quattro – palm-sized palette, four earthy hues, instant “Bali sunrise” eyelids even when you’re sprinting for Gate 42
🍃 Aroma-Zone serums & oils – French-made glow drops with ingredient lists shorter than a Parisian shrug, bottled in chic glass (plastic, who?)
🌸 Posy, We Love & Ben & Anna deodorants – cardboard push-up sticks that keep my pits peachy from take-off to touchdown ✈️
🌱 Herbatint hair dye – zero burn, zero ammonia drama; mix only what you need and voilà, instant “yes, this is totally my natural color” at customs
🌹 Alteya Organics creams – rose-and-lavender oil clouds that rescue jet-lagged skin (and moonlight as silky lube—multitasking goals 🙌)
☀️ Andalou Naturals zinc sunscreens – reef-safe shield with a secret anti-aging side quest starring prebiotics & fruit stem cells (I love the tinted version, too!)
🦷 Biomed toothpaste – orange or coconut-ice-cream flavor that patches up enamel like a tiny dentist in a tube, minus the fluoride plot twist

These switches might feel small, but imagine the ripple if every traveler did the same. Cleaner coastlines. Healthier hotel policies. Less guilt when you toss that empty tube. Sustainability isn’t a sacrifice—it’s a souvenir we all get to keep.

Did you know your favorite yoga pants might be messing with your hormones? Or that you're both absorbing chemicals through your skin and breathing in microplastics when you wear toxic fabrics? 😳

Synthetic fabrics like polyester, nylon, acrylic, and spandex don’t just pollute the planet—they off-gas harmful chemicals, trap bacteria, and shed plastic fibers that end up in your lungs, bloodstream, breast milk, and even your brain. These toxins have been linked to hormone disruption, inflammation, skin conditions, and fertility issues.

Our skin is our largest organ—and what we wear matters. Especially if you're already sensitive, dealing with migraines, acne, or gut issues, switching to clean, breathable fabrics can make a real difference.

❌ Fabrics to avoid:
• Polyester – Sheds microplastics and off-gasses endocrine disruptors.
• Nylon / Polyamide – Petroleum-based plastics, often treated with toxic PFAS.
• Acrylic – Irritating to skin and releases harmful chemicals when heated.
• Spandex / Lycra / Elastane – Adds stretch but makes clothes less breathable and recyclable.
• Poly blends – A mix of plastics disguised as softness.
• Viscose (Rayon) – Made from wood pulp, but processed with toxic chemicals.
• Modal – Often greenwashed—only Lenzing Modal is made responsibly.

✅ Better choices for your body + the planet:
• Linen – Naturally cooling, antimicrobial, and water-efficient.
• Organic cotton – Non-toxic, breathable, and gentle on sensitive skin.
• H**p – Durable, renewable, and improves soil health.
• Ramie – A luxe, linen-like fiber that’s strong, breathable, and antibacterial (and what I'm wearing in these photos!)
• Lyocell – Soft, breathable, and biodegradable—look for certified sources like TENCEL™ lyocell.
• Lenzing Modal – A cleaner version of modal, processed sustainably and free of harsh toxins.

Wearing natural fabrics is one of the easiest ways to detox your daily life—literally. Ready to ditch the hormone-disrupting plastic in your closet?

(Men, this message is for you too: Supporting women means understanding and normalizing these conversations. Listen, learn, and talk openly—it's how we break stigmas together.)

Periods aren't dirty or shameful, so why don't we talk about them more openly? If men had periods, you know they'd proudly declare themselves warriors. 🤷‍♀️

Let's talk about period un**es! How did I not know about these sooner? (Because periods are still treated like a taboo topic. 🙄)
I would never go back to pads or tampons—period panties are unbelievably comfy, healthier (no toxic chemicals like those found in most pads and tampons), and eco-friendly. 🌿 Did you know that one reusable period panty can soak up as much as 5 disposable pads, without feeling wet? That’s a win-win for your body and the planet. You can wash them on the 'wool' setting, or hand wash them and hang them to dry. Easy!

Let's start talking openly about women's health issues. Do you use period underwear yet? What has your experience been like? Let’s normalize the conversation! 💬👇

Monte Carlo's Casino Square sparkles with everything we’re taught to want: wealth, glamour, elegance. We’re conditioned to chase symbols of success… but when we strip it all back, do those things actually bring joy? Or just distraction?

Real happiness, I think, comes from presence. From connection. From feeling free in your own skin — not from being surrounded by expensive things. I feel happiest and most fulfilled when I'm in nature (like here, in Jardins de la Petite Afrique near Casino Square in Monaco), cuddling with Mike and Shadow, and being with friends.

What truly makes you feel rich inside?👇
