A taste: "Also, just to put the the “ex” in exposition, there is a letter from Beloved Dev, whose handwriting you last saw on a coffee mug saying “World’s Best Grandma.” Crumple that sh*t, girl!"

Will Smash be better this season? Not sure, but we'll say this — it's certainly more professional.

Julie Klausner’s podcast “How Was Your Week?” is a mix of riffing and interviews that has a literate sensibility.

Still wobbly - a week later - thinking about THE GREAT GOD PAN. Had complex feelings about it, but the feelings aren't going away.

Critics' Roundtable: What Was the Cultural Event of 2012?

You should see the actual "Critics Round-table." It's made of pig-iron, with eight-inch zinc spikes poking out at crazy angles. Like some kind of George RR Martin S*M fantasy. Honestly, it's the only place our kind feel comfortable.

And four other equally pertinent questions.

Oh my blubbery, unfathomable God, go see THE WHALE. Samuel D. Hunter is on a roll. And Shuler Hensley is, in every sense, tremendous. Full review coming later this week.
