Sweet Potato Pie with Pecan Praline Crunch

Creamy spiced sweet potato filling topped with a buttery, caramelized pecan crunch—this pie is a Southern-inspired showstopper perfect for the holidays (or any cozy day).

Ingredients:

For the sweet potato filling:
2 cups mashed sweet potatoes (about 2 medium sweet potatoes)
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup evaporated milk
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground nutmeg
¼ tsp salt
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

For the pecan praline crunch:
1 cup chopped pecans
½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup unsalted butter
¼ cup all-purpose flour
½ tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan and set aside.

In a large bowl, whisk together mashed sweet potatoes, granulated sugar, brown sugar, evaporated milk, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.

Pour filling into the crust and smooth the top. Bake for 45 minutes.

Meanwhile, make the pecan praline topping: In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar, flour, vanilla, and salt. Cook 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and stir in pecans.

After 45 minutes, remove the pie and sprinkle the praline mixture evenly over the top.

Samosa and Spring Roll Wraps

Thin, soft, and easy-to-roll wrappers perfect for making crispy homemade samosas or spring rolls. With just a few pantry staples, you can prepare fresh wraps that are way better than store-bought!

Ingredients:
2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
1½ cups (360ml) water
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp sugar (optional)

Instructions:

In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and sugar (if using). Gradually add water while stirring until a smooth, lump-free batter forms. The batter should be slightly thinner than pancake batter.

Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Lightly grease with a brush or paper towel dipped in oil.

Pour a small amount of batter into the pan and quickly swirl to form a thin, even circle.

Cook for 30–60 seconds until the wrap looks dry and the edges lift. Do not flip.

Carefully lift the wrap off the pan and transfer to a plate. Cover with a damp cloth to keep soft.

Repeat with remaining batter, stirring occasionally to maintain consistency.

Allow wraps to cool before filling them with your favorite samosa or spring roll mixture.

Storage: Stack wraps with parchment paper in between. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer.

Prep time: 10 minutes | Cook time: 20 minutes | Total time: 30 minutes | Makes: ~12–15 wraps

Homemade White Pizza Sauce

Creamy, garlicky, and cheesy—this white pizza sauce is the perfect base for rich and flavorful pizzas, but it also doubles as a pasta or dipping sauce. Quick to make and absolutely delicious!

Ingredients:
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 cup whole milk
½ cup heavy cream
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and black pepper to taste
¼ tsp Italian seasoning
¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions:

In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute to remove the raw flour taste.

Slowly add the milk and heavy cream, whisking constantly to prevent lumps. Cook 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Reduce heat to low and stir in Parmesan, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Stir until smooth and creamy.

If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of milk to loosen. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before using.

Storage: Refrigerate in an airtight container for 3–4 days. Reheat gently, adding a splash of milk if needed.

How to Use:
• Spread over pizza dough and top with mozzarella, ricotta, spinach, mushrooms, or chicken.
• Toss with cooked pasta for a creamy white sauce.
• Serve as a dip for breadsticks, garlic knots, or roasted veggies.
