In 1941, this street in Drohobych was filled with N**i German officials and soldiers as the city came under German occupation during World War II. Today, the same streets are lined with shops, cars, cafés, and everyday life.

In 1944, American soldiers marched through the streets of Carentan, Normandy, during the Allied campaign to liberate France after D-Day. The town was a key objective because of its strategic position between Utah and Omaha beaches.

Today, the same area is peaceful, with the historic church still standing while the streets around it have been transformed by modern life.
