Does anyone know what kind of baseboard or trim this is? I’m trying to repair one section and want to match it as closely as possible, but I can’t figure out the exact style or profile.

Is this a common trim style, or something older/discontinued? Where would be the best place to look for a matching piece? Would I need to take a sample to a millwork shop to get it matched?

First time getting carpet installed. Are these gaps at the baseboards normal? It’s not just the height, it seems like the carpet stops right at the edge and maybe could have gone back slightly below the base board and it would have looked better? Should I ask the installer or is it normal? Thanks!

Woke up to this this morning and I’m not sure what the next move should be. Our 12-week-old Australian Shepherd usually free roams at night and normally does great, usually sleeping right next to our bed.

This morning we woke up to him throwing up, and then found this mess. Has anyone dealt with this with a young puppy before? Should we be worried enough to call the vet, or just monitor him for now? Is it time to stop letting him free roam at night until he’s older?

I’ve been working on these baseboards for about a week while my brother is on vacation, and I’m trying to figure out if I’m doing them right.

I’m trying to track down this exact baseboard and I’m coming up empty everywhere. I’ve checked the usual big box home improvement sites, searched in-store, and even tried Google reverse image search, but still no luck.

It measures about 5 1/4 inches tall and roughly 5/8 inch thick. Does anyone recognize this profile or know where I might find it? Is this possibly a discontinued style or something from a specialty millwork shop? What would be the best place to look next?

So apparently my cat has decided the walls are now part of the snack menu… because yes, my cat likes to lick the walls. 😭

Is this just normal weird cat behavior, or should I be concerned? Has anyone else’s cat done this? What is so interesting about a plain wall that I’m clearly missing?

How concerned should I be about these cracks in my plaster walls? I’ve included photos of the foundation as well to help give the full picture.

I’m trying to figure out whether this is just normal settling and aging, or if it could be a sign of a bigger structural issue. Do these cracks look typical for an older home, or would they make you want to investigate further? Based on the wall and foundation photos, would you be worried, or just keep an eye on them and monitor for changes?

Any opinions or experiences would be appreciated.

Are gaps like this normal after a brand-new carpet install?

We just had new carpet put in with thicker padding and carpet than what was there before, but now this room has gaps all around the baseboards. Every other room in the house has the same baseboards and spacing with the old carpet, and there are no gap issues at all.

The installers are saying I need to lower the baseboards, but I can literally fit my fingers into some of these spaces. Does this look like a normal install issue, or does something seem off with the carpet work? Would you accept this job as-is, or ask them to come back and fix it?

Baseboard overreaction, or would this bother anyone else too? 😩

We just had our floors replaced, and the floors themselves look great, but now I’m noticing a lot of gaps in the baseboards — especially in the corners and a couple spots along the wall.

Is this something that’s normal after new flooring, or should the baseboards be sitting more flush and tight against each other?

Would you ask them to come back and fix these gaps, or am I just staring at it too closely?

Some of the corners are perfectly together with no caulking or touch-up needed, so now the uneven ones stand out even more. Am I overreacting, or is this sloppy finish work?
