I had the pleasure of traveling to Chicago and sharing this piece with True Voices Chicago's event, Unwrapped.
The Walking Dead is my story. Not the fuzzy, music and laughter filled life that a lot of you see from me on a daily basis, but the ugly predecessor to all of that. Depression and suicidal thoughts are nothing to be trifled with, and before I became the way I am today, I was a very different person. If you or your loved ones are dealing with these types of feelings, know that they are valid. Know that you should seek help from friends, family, PROFESSIONALS as well as God.
The stigma for mental health means that we as Christians pretend like these things don't happen. But they do. And we don't have to go through it alone. There is not a single thing that you can experience that will surprise God.
Be Blessed and Merry Christmas. Love y'all
