AI is changing what it means to be a good Product Manager.

For AI PMs, knowing ChatGPT, Claude, or the latest AI tools isn’t the skill anymore. The harder part is knowing how to actually build AI products that work.

As a Product Manager working on agentic APIs, these are 5 AI product management skills I think matter more.

The shift I’m seeing in AI Product Management is from using AI tools → building, evaluating, and making product decisions around AI systems.

But PMs who understand AI agents, LLMs, evals, APIs, prototyping, reliability, and agentic workflows will be able to have much better conversations with engineering and build much better AI products.
