Your Weekend Playlist, Courtesy of Sedona | Milk

Hailing from Seattle, Los Angeles, Missouri, and Long Island, the five-piece, pop-rock band, Sedona, considers Brooklyn to be their home. Trudging through the sonic swamps of myth rock and dirty pop, Sedona stands out from the rest like a catchy tune playing at a hair salon. The band, led by Rachel Stewart on vocals with Claire Gilb on guitar, Margaux Bouchegnies on bass, Tia Cestaro on drums, and Merilyn Chang on keys, promises an unpredictable mix of dancey pop tunes and heartfelt ballads.

With a handful of singles out and their EP, Rearview Angel, on the way, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for this rising group. Milk caught up with Sedona to chat about their musical evolution, dream collaborators, and the ups-and-downs of working together.

On the Road, for the Record: Polo & Pan | Milk

https://milk.xyz/articles/on-the-road-for-the-record-polo-pan/

Paul Armand-Delille and Alexandre Grynszpan make up the French electro duo, Polo & Pan. This year, they’ve been touring the world; from the Middle East to shows across Europe, the pair have been focusing on promoting their summer EP Gengis and their beloved 2017 album, Caravelle. On stage, Polo & Pan command the crowd; Victoria Lafaurie, who accompanies them on a few of the songs, only adds to the vibrancy and charisma of the show. Dressed in eccentric outfits and accompanied by colored flashing lights, the two had an interesting dialogue with the crowd. As they transitioned from track to track, it was as if the audience members from the balcony were hypnotized in dance.

As the Parisian duo wrap up their US tour, Milk got an inside look.

Ones to Watch: Amber Grace Johnson | Milk

https://milk.xyz/articles/ones-to-watch-amber-grace-johnson/

Amber Grace Johnson is a storyteller, she’s a people-person, she’s the woman in charge. Since interning at MATTE Studios in 2014, she’s professionally worked in film on projects ranging from Prada to Mercedes Benz. Most recently, she directed Jorja Smith’s “Be Honest” video featuring Burna Boy, that’s amassed over 18-million views and picked up two United Kingdom Video Music Awards [UKVMA] nominations. Based in NY, the director is self-taught. Her presence is powerful, and her movements and speech are quick and direct; she’s got a no-nonsense kind of attitude, but still manages to put you at ease.

“Being a Director isn’t glamorous…I compare it to two things I’ve never done; giving birth or marriage.”

On the Road, for the Record: Ross from Friends | Milk

Felix Clary Weatherall, more commonly known as Ross from Friends, is the British DJ making waves. Last weekend, he played a sold-out show at Elsewhere in the midst of his North American Tour, alongside guitarist Jed Hampson and saxophonist/synth player John Dunk. Despite the rigor and skill it takes to perform a live set of that caliber, the artist trio captivated the entire audience, while being fully immersed in their own world.
