The biggest struggle when applying for any low-time pilot job isn't the lack of experience itself: Makers Air only requires 200 hours to apply for an SIC job.

The challenge is to figure out what you can do to actually set yourself apart from the masses. Because if it were really all about the hours, pretty straightforward solution: just get more.

Now, the easiest way would be to just ask the people in charge. The hard part is getting access to them.

Up to 14 pilot jobs that require less than 500 hours are up for grabs next month!

Having time in type used to be the secret ingredient.

Now that the word is out though, that's not going to be enough to stand out. All else being equal, the more Aztec hours, the better. But understand that last season, about 25 applicants spent a good chunk of change getting the PA23-250 time, only to fall short.

The cool thing is, a lot of survey operators fly Aztecs, and they'll be hiring too this summer. So even if Skylens doesn't hire you, it's not like you're just sheer out of luck.
