It's Thursday afternoon and you've been working really hard all week. By this point you're wishing your company adopted a siesta program. You know, to help with productivity...
Well, we did some research and found that Comedy Central created a video to highlight the famous Latino siesta. It's called The Siesta World Cup and it's hilarious.
We've missed you and we need to get back in your good graces. We're going to do just that right now...
Ever sat down for a really scary movie simply because you love the feeling you get when your hair stands on end? Well, Japanese techies have developed seating furniture that can do that for you at all times.
Introducing the "Chilly Chair" concept. This chair stimulates the hair on your skin by using static electricity -- thereby increasing the effect of a really good (or scary) movie. The technology forces a subconscious reaction exciting emotion. How cool is that? Unfortunately, it's not available for your home... just yet but something tells us they won't be able to deprive us for long!
Chilly Chair Hands-On
Sometimes coffee's not enough. Sometimes you need something stronger. How about when you're driving? Yep, sometimes you need something more than just coffee when you're driving to, oh, we don't know... work? If you agree with any of this you're probably Italian. And if so, you're in luck!
Fiat introduces the first ever built-in automobile espresso machine. It's the 500L and it boasts a whole range of accessories, but the coffee technology (in collaboration with Lavazza) is what's getting the most attention.
So what do you think?
We're mulling this over a cup o' joe as we speak... When in Rome!
Polka dots. You like 'em? Well, lots of people do! And because lots of people are obsessed with funky prints like the polka dot, Louis Vuitton figured the logical thing would be to capitalize.

Spolier Alert: AutoPilot is just slightly cooler. With this mode, the app decides what the user will hear based on "ambient noise, time of day and weather."

A little fun before dinner: [TUTORIAL] Enhanced Macro iPhone Photography With a Drop of Water via Tested
Take your Instagram, Tumblr, Flickr, :: insert other image sharing media here :: to the next level!
I was skeptical of this iPhone camera tip posted by Alex Wild at Scientific American, and had to try it for myself. Wild claims that using just a drop of water, you can turn the iPhone into a capable microscope, letting you take photos of objects right up to the lens. Obvious concerns about intentio...

Coming to New York, "Habit": A round-the-clock theatre installation
"When they're hungry, they eat."
In Habit, a theater installation coming to Essex Street Market, three actors perform a 90-minute slice of "conventional American Realism" inside a fully-functioning house, over and over, for eight hours a day. While the actors stick strictly to scripted dialogue, all of the staging is impr

Your "friends" can then berate you into oblivion and ultimately help you achieve your weight loss goals. Isn't that great?!
Social Embarrassment. It's a thing of the future. Keep up.

Remember Bump? Well, the creators of the app that "bumped" your photos from your phone to your computer have now created Flock.
Flock is a new iPhone app that solves the problem of having to send pictures to your friends via email. Ugh, we know how annoying that can be! Now you can auto send images from a shared photo album to all your friends without ever having to remember an email address. Whew!
Some are calling it time-saving magic. We're calling it metadata.

HAPPENING NOW: DogEatMedia's now on Tumblr!
We just entered our first post sharing what it is we intend to do for the 65+million microbloggers. Check us out.
Bonus: Find out what our favorite inanimate object is.
We at Dog Eat Media love a good art installation. We especially love the ones that have the ability to share some kind of information about something happening at that very moment. Like a cloud sculpture that changes every 20 seconds according to real time weather reports from around the world.
Introducing eCLOUD. This 108-foot long sculpture in the San Jose International Airport (we're told between gates 22 and 23) hangs from the ceiling and changes in real time based on weather reports that are constantly streaming in to its brain.
We're excited to say it's a permanent fixture at the airport and will be sharing global weather conditions with travelers for a long, long time.
The eCLOUD is a dynamic sculpture inspired by the volume and behavior of an idealized cloud. Made from unique polycarbonate tiles that can fade between trans...

A double decker bus does pushups... We're not kidding!
A Czech artist has re-modelled a traditional London double-decker bus into a mechanical sculpture of an athlete doing push-ups to celebrate the Olympic Games...
Just a little mid-day treat for ya!

This is for all my social shoppers out there. You know who you are -- can't make a purchase without telling someone (possibly a total stranger) first. But we wouldn't bring you just another site where you can post your purchase to Twitter or Facebook, no. We always share what's different, what's influential. And this time's no different.
Introducing Ownza. This social shopping experience connects influential customers to others with product questions. That means, in addition to being able to add any product on the web to your "shelves," you have access to people that you're more likely to listen to, so that you may ask them questions about your potential purchase.
Oh, and you can gain points too... We like points.
Ownza gives you exclusive deals, based on the stuff you own.

LEGO bricks. We've asked them to do a lot in recent years. They've become buildings, bridges, and even robots. But recently they've been taken these plastic builders in a whole other direction.
For the 3D premier of Star Wars - Episode 1, the tiny interlocking toys were developed into a barrel organ... yes, a barrel organ that could play the epic theme song we associate with the film/TV series -- ingeniously promoting the LEGO brand and the movie release simultaneously.
.. Oh, and if that wasn't enough the organ also featured a QR Code, which led to a microsite where the organ could be experienced and LEGO sets could be ordered.
Beat that, every other construction toy company in the world!
Check out the new making-of video here: http://youtu.be/Ce2r2tnxLQU "Builders of Sound": As part of the promotion of the sets of Star Wars toys, Serviceplan ...

Signed any hefty basketball contracts lately? Yeah, us neither. But just incase you have the opportunity anytime soon, you'll probably be doing it on an iPad.
There's no doubt technology has changed the world in many ways but for right now we're going to focus on sports. More specifically the NBA. People are now signing upwards of $100 million contracts with their finger... on an iPad.
Apparently Papermate isn't good enough anymore.
See this TechCrunch article.
For industry people who keep up with the daily technology news cycle of incremental feature updates, startup launches, and seed funding stories, it can be easy to lose sight of the big picture of how tech has changed how the world operates. So sometimes, it's fun to just step back and realize how cr...
Do you know how to play the guitar? Do you have a drivers license? All this matters for tonight's marketing highlight.
The "Fast vs. Fast" campaign has gotten our attention for its cleverness and ingenuity. For this particular video, VW has selected one of the fastest guitarists in the world to go up against their new Jetta GLI Sedan.
Other stars that are set to go head-to-head with the Jetta include female speed talker, Fran Capo, and that guy that can solve the Rubik's Cube in 8 seconds.
This is quickly proving to be a sick campaign. We guess Volkswagen really does understand fast.
This video highlights the 2012 Volkswagen Jetta GLI on a closed course as a driver competes against one of the world's top speed guitarists, John Taylor. The...
Have you ever been looking through an acquaintance's pictures, seen a really cool building in a really cool courtyard against a really cool natural backdrop and thought to yourself, "I really want to go there." Then you go to look for a caption. Nothing. You look for a geo-tag. Nothing. Ugh.
This new social travel app from a top Facebook executive (no one will tell us who) and a Yahoo co-founder is taking image sharing to the next level. Long gone are the days where you have to search through Google Images to find a similar picture and guess that's where that really cool building's from. This iPad app can tell where the picture's from even if it's NOT geo- tagged.
We know... It's awesome.
Download the Jetpac iPad app to see your friends' best travel photos!

Like games? Yeah, we thought you might. Like being social? Yeah, we thought you might. Love when we tell you stuff? Yeah, we thought you might.
Let's talk about PapayaMobile.
Thought up by 2 friends (one having worked at Google), PapayaMobile is an open mobile social network for Android. The foundation behind the idea is centered on casual gaming and virtual currency. According to their site, "it offers developers a fast and easy way to reach millions of users worldwide and improve their [ROI] for Android game development."
That's a mouthful, we know, but it's a really interesting idea if you think about it. We hear developers love this thing because they can play multiple games and take the social gaming experience to another level with little effort.
Papaya is the fun social mobile gaming network. Find awesome free games and challenge the world from your phone!
Need something to do with those headphones? Walking around New York City? Well we've got just the thing!
For tonight's Marketing Highlight we're talking about Kitsune, the French fashion and record label. They've come to America and partnered up with CNNCTD+ to create an awesome urban music experience.
It's called Sound Graffiti.
Peppered throughout the streets of NYC are listening boxes where you can plug in those unused headphones and sample the Kitsune America music compilation. How cool is that?!
We don't know about you but we'll be on the lookout for these boxes... maybe not in tonight's rain but surely in the days to come!
Let us know where you find a listening box, take a picture of yourself using it, and share!
Kitsuné America launches compilation disc by placing 'docking stations' on New York streetlamps; anyone with headphones could preview songs on the street.
