The majority of my family like their steak “well done”. Everyone has their preferences. 😂
So the grill master cooked it somewhat well done because he likes his medium.
How do you accommodate different requests when not serving individual steaks?

For me. Coated with Adolphs tenderizer for 5 days open in frige. Then rinsed and dried. 2 days coated on Evo and Pepper. Pulled out of frige and brought to room temp. Then seared at 500 deg grill grates both sides. Pulled at 145 deg center and rested for 10 min.
Perfect every time.

What do you guys think? It took me sometime to get steak right. I've watched alot of reels and followed this page for awhile and applied different techniques. This is Costco NY strip. I'm still trying to perfect my sear, I may need a better quality grill 🤷🏿‍♂️
Wife make the homemade mashed potatoes and fresh zucchini.

Ready to be roasted but this is the best sear I’ve ever done.Let me know how I did! Ignore the paper plate lol

My 2nd attempt at cooking a steak in cast iron.
I keep failing!
I used 1/2 a prime strip steak (thick).
Brined 3 hrs (with a kosher & Celtic sea salt mix)
Preheated cast iron (medium heat)
Used Ghee since it has a higher smoke point.
I wind up with meat that tastes like a salt brine, although dry enuff I can’t get a nice outer crust without overcooking internally (this came out less cooked than my first) and I keep getting too much smoke in the house!
PS: I do add garlic & rosemary in the pan & add cracked pepper yo the steak before it goes in the pan. Once in the pan I do turn the heat up a tad & keep spooning the ghee over the top.
Also, the 2nd pic is just some truffle butter I added before plating (after or as it rested).
I can’t master it!
