A few more clips from last night… that last video though 🥹

2,977 drones rising into the sky over New York Harbor, one for every life lost on September 11 💙

The installation, “2,977 Lights Over New York Harbor,” was created for the 25th anniversary of 9/11, with thousands of individual lights coming together to recreate the Twin Towers at full architectural scale.

And even the shape you see in the second slide had a story behind it: it was inspired by a dream to rebuild the World Trade Center after 9/11.

Check the Reel I posted last night, as it happened, for the most powerful + emotional moments 🥹

SAVE THIS for September 11 in NYC 💙

The Tribute in Light is being tested tonight and I ran straight to one of my favorite places to see it: Brooklyn Heights Promenade 🥹

If you want to experience the lights on September 11, here are some of my favorite viewpoints:

📍 Brooklyn Heights Promenade
Pierrepont St + Columbia Heights, Brooklyn
This is where I filmed tonight - elevated, unobstructed and such a beautiful view of Lower Manhattan.

📍 Pebble Beach at Brooklyn Bridge Park
65 Plymouth St, Brooklyn
Right on the waterfront with the Manhattan skyline + Brooklyn Bridge in front of you.

📍 Brooklyn Bridge
Enter from Tillary St + Boerum Pl in Brooklyn
Walk toward Manhattan for an incredible perspective as you get closer to Lower Manhattan.

📍 Manhattan Bridge
Pedestrian entrance around Jay St + Sands St, Brooklyn
A completely different angle over the East River toward Lower Manhattan.

📍 Exchange Place, Jersey City
Exchange Pl, Jersey City, NJ
One of the easiest ways to get a completely different perspective: take the PATH from World Trade Center to Exchange Place - it’s the very next stop - then walk straight toward the waterfront. You’ll be directly across the Hudson from Lower Manhattan with the Tribute in Light rising in front of you

⛴️ FROM THE WATER
An evening ferry or harbor cruise gives you a completely different perspective of the skyline and the two beams.

The Tribute in Light illuminates the NYC sky from dusk on September 11 through dawn on September 12, in remembrance of those we lost on 9/11. 💙

I’ve lived in New York for 19 years and this is one of those moments that never becomes ordinary.

Send this to someone you want to experience it with + save it for September 11. 💙

SAVE + SHARE this for your next NYC trip because after almost 20 years living here, Midtown can STILL surprise me. 🥹🗽

I spent a few days at the New York Hilton Midtown, right in the middle of Manhattan, and somehow ended up discovering hundreds of thousands of bees living on its rooftop.

Yes. BEES. In Midtown 💛💛💛

And once I stepped outside? Some of my absolute favorite NYC spots were just minutes away.

Here’s everything in the carousel:
🐝 New York Hilton Midtown rooftop apiary, hundreds of thousands of bees living above Manhattan
🪟 Room 3208, waking up to that Central Park view
🌳 Central Park, about 5 minutes away and forever one of my favorite NYC escapes
💦 Paley Park, a 20-foot waterfall tucked between Midtown skyscrapers
👀 6½ Avenue, the pedestrian shortcut so many visitors walk right past
😍 Alwyn Court, one of those NYC buildings you HAVE to stop and really look at
💪 Hilton fitness center, all Technogym + SO much natural light
🍯 and back to the bees… for the sweetest ending to my stay

This is exactly why I love New York. You can think you know a neighborhood, walk the same streets a hundred times, and there’s STILL something that makes you stop and look again 💜
