Showing love and affection to young children is one of the keys to their all-round development/can have a lasting impact on their behavior and development. Children that grow up in loving homes tend to have better communication with their parents.

UNICEF’s National Agenda for Responsible Parenting and Family Care in Tanzania, called Familia Bora, Taifa Imara, developed in association with PCI Media recognizes Love as important pillar in maintaining a positive and nurturing home.

Caribbean Breaking Up with Plastics

This short Clean Seas video takes a lighter look at the issue of marine litter and asks everyone around the world to break-up with single-use plastics and make their pledge at http://ow.ly/CKmj50ykJV9.

In this second PSA, somewhere in the Caribbean, Natural Girl realizes she has been in a toxic relationship for too long and decides it's time for a long overdue break-up.

In the Caribbean, much plastic waste ends up in the ocean, where it harms marine life and can in turn threaten ecosystems, health and the region’s tourism-based economy. For residents of the Caribbean, plastic pollution not only diminishes the natural beauty their nations are known for, but it also compromises the role of the ocean as a provider of food, other resources, and livelihoods.

Produced by the Global Environment Facility-funded Integrating Water, Land and Ecosystems Management in Caribbean Small Island Developing States Project (GEF IWEco Project). This project is being executed by the UN Environment Programme UNEP Cartagena Convention Secretariat & Caribbean Environment Programme and PCI Media.

In Mozambique, maternal, newborn and child health is a serious concern. 44% of children under 5 are stunted from chronic illness and diet.

Ouro Negro (Black Gold) is a national radio drama in Mozambique designed by UNICEF, Radio Mozambique, PCI Media, and the World Food Program as Facts for Life (FFL)’s flagship communication program. As the longest-running radio drama in the country, it has broadcast over 100 episodes on national radio and 60 local stations.

In the drama, worlds collide as a fictional African village is confronted with the arrival of a foreign mining company. Against this backdrop of tension and change, listeners learn essential maternal, newborn and child health practices. Rapid assessment surveys showed widespread impact after Season One.

Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett use Golden Globes speeches to link Australian fires to climate crisis

We're currently slap-bang in the middle of awards season, which is prime time for celebrities to use their acceptance speeches to accelerate conversation around the causes they care about. This year, in the midst of the Australian bushfire crisis, climate change naturally took precedent.

“Make no mistake the tragedy unfolding in Australia is climate-change based. We need to act based on science, move our global workforce to renewable energy and respect our planet for the unique and amazing place it is.” - Russel Crowe during the Golden Globes this January.

Cate Blanchett, who was presenting an award, used her speech to give thanks to volunteer firefighters, and draw attention to the global “climate disaster”.

Joaquin Phoenix also urged his fellow actors to forgo private jets, saying “We have to take that responsibility on ourselves and make sacrifices.”

#CleanSeas Break-Up PSA: "It's not me, it's you."

Have you seen our series of #BreakingUpWithPlastics videos?

Our first Break-Up PSA was released on Valentine's day in 2018 with the UN Environment Programme, taking a lighter look at the issue of marine litter and asking everyone around the world to break-up with single-use plastics.

Its refreshing take on the single-use plastics issues and solutions quickly led to 2M online views and 23k shares on Facebook alone. The video was subsequently picked up by international online and traditional broadcast media, leading to a spike on the http://ow.ly/3BDw50y3gYj website and generating online pledges to reduce single-use plastic consumption.

In our first PSA, Sandra realizes she has been in a toxic relationship for too long and decides it's time for a break-up. What's more, she has found a new love.
