Those words from a CIA officer tasked with carrying out an extremely perilous operation come from a new production from BIG Media that premiered last week at a private screening for 50 current and former CIA officers, together with their friends and families in Northern Virginia. โInside the CIA: Secrets and Spiesโ gives viewers a first-person look into the secret world in which Central Intelligence Agency officers live and work.
Streaming on Disney+, this is the most immersive documentary about the missions and lives of Agency officers ever made. In it, CIA officers speak not only about some of the most important missions in which they were involved. They also give viewers a behind the scenes look at the personal demands service in the shadows places on those who live it and those who live it with them. In the show, we hear not only from the officers themselves, but also from those who served with them and, in many instances, from family members.
Service at CIA, one of Agencyโs most respected officers said, โis a callingโฆa way life.โ โInside the CIAโ tells the story of those granted the privilege of living that life and serving their country in a world that is at once uniquely demanding and enthralling. โThese things donโt happen in real lifeโ, fictional spy James Bond observes in Ian Flemingโs Thunderball. From โInside the CIA,โ viewers learn that sometimes they do.
