Marina Litvinenko and Alex Goldfarb

WO WE ARE Marina is the widow, and Alex, a close friend, of the Russian dissident Alexander (Sasha) Litvinenko poisoned by Kremlin agents in 2006 with radioactive Polonium-210.

We ask for your help in bringing a defamation suit against two Russian propaganda outlets, Channel One and RT, which have accused Alex of Sasha's murder in order to vindicate the real murderers.

BACKGROUND In the aftermath of the poisoning of Sergei Skripal and his daughter in Salisbury last March, the Russian state-controlled media broadcasted several programs about the Litvinenko case, pushing the notion that the Russian government had nothing to do with both poisonings. To deflect the blame from the true murderers they accused Alex Goldfarb of killing Sasha. They did it without offering a shred of evidence and notwithstanding the fact that a judicial Public Inquiry in 2016 in London has established beyond doubt that two Russian agents, Andrey Lugovoy and Dmitry Kovtun, poisoned Sasha. Marina had struggled for ten years to have Sasha's murderers named in a court of law. Undermining this finding with a fake narrative before tens of millions of viewers adds insult to injury.

THE LAWSUIT We are preparing a defamation lawsuit against the two Russian networks to be filed with a US Federal Court in Manhattan. Our lawyers have already sent the defendants letters demanding retraction and apology, a necessary first step. Preparation and filing of the complaint is a complex and costly legal work, which may take several weeks.
