By mid-2013, the number of Hispanics and non-Latino whites in California will be equal at roughly 39 percent of the population. Latinos will take the lead in early 2014 and growth will continue at a swift pace through 2060. After 2060 - Hispanics will make up 48 percent of the population compared to 30 percent non-Hispanic whites
Hispanics are the largest and youngest minority group in the U.S. The Hispanic market has grown to an astonishing figure of 50 million people and their buying power is equivalent in size to the world’s 15th largest economy. Marketing to Latinos really consists in marketing to Millennial. Millennials have a whole new mentality in terms of how they see the world, not only brands. Those that recognize consumers as multi-dimensional human beings will most likely become victorious in the marketplace.

The 7am hour has been radio’s prime time for in-car listening, but the 5am-7am segment is nearly as big — with one third of Americans heading out the door before 7am. The end result is that commute times are growing longer every year, and Americans are hitting the highways for work earlier than ever before. With morning commutes beginning earlier, so are the times some stations begin airing news and traffic. The longest commutes are in the New York, Washington, Chicago and Los Angeles where people drive an estimate 100 miles or more for work, which results in the increase of weekly Morning Drive TSL.
Radio reaches millions of Americans in every key buying demo! Each week across the country, terrestrial radio reaches 93% of Adults 18-34, 94% of Adults 18-49, 95% of Adults 25-54, and 95% of Adults 35-64! In fact, Radio reaches 92% of Americans during prime shopping hours.
The Hispanic market is hot … and Radio listening among Hispanics is at an all time high. Radio’s Hispanic audience also continues to see large increases as the Hispanic 12+ audience rose by an estimated 2.5 million listeners since December 2011. The Weekly Radio reach among Hispanics for P12+ and M18+ is 95%, and for Hispanic W18+ is 96% with the average TSL of all 3 being 15:04 (hours and minutes).
New York Loves Jim!!
Radio is everywhere and wherever Americans are, they are tuning in! This mobile medium reaches people in their homes, on the road, and in the workplace. However, the #1 place where Radio reaches the most people is in their cars, and it seems to be very popular among college students. The power of the Hispanic Market is much underestimated. The Hispanic population of the United States is about 52 million, making people of Hispanic origin the nation's largest ethnic or race minority. There are 8 states in the U.S. that have a population of 1 million or more Hispanic residents: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, New York and Texas.
McGavren Guild Media represents over 60 Hispanic stations combined within these top 8 states with formats from Regional Mexican, to Spanish Contemporary, to Spanish Oldies, and Spanish News/Talk.
Radio remains a reliable source of entertainment and information for Hispanic listeners, regardless of their language preference. Mexican Regional is still by far the most popular format among Hispanic listeners, with a 20 percent audience share. As a comparison, the second-most-popular Hispanic radio format is Spanish Contemporary and Spanish Hot Adult Contemporary with an 11.6 percent share of the Latino radio audience.
