Comment "PR" if you want insider access to what journalists actually want 👇

Small businesses can land media coverage WITHOUT connections or PR experience. Even if you're just starting out and wearing all the hats.

But let's be real, so many of us have been told the only way to get noticed is to:

👎 Drop thousands on ads
👎 Gamble 5K on 'influencers of the week'
👎 Hire expensive PR firms that don't deliver

It breaks my heart to see founders pouring money into these methods because no one will ever care about your business as much as you do.

That's why I'm so passionate about showing small but mighty businesses how to get their stories featured in top outlets, organically.

Emily, who writes for Brides, People, Byrdie, Travel + Leisure, and Real Simple, is joining us on July 18th to answer your pitching questions and share exactly what catches her attention.

If you're tired of chasing customers in DMs or feeling invisible, this is for you.

One week away from meeting Emily live in our community! 🗓️

Emily is a shopping editor at top-tier outlets like People, InStyle, Brides, Travel + Leisure, and Real Simple.

She's literally the person behind those dream features we all want.

And here's what makes this special... She's not giving generic advice.

She's answering YOUR questions and reviewing actual pitches from our community.

When's the last time you got to ask a real journalist what actually catches their attention?

What makes them say "yes, I want to feature this" versus hitting delete?

Emily said "I'm always looking for new brands to feature, but there is a right and wrong way to get my attention." She's going to tell us exactly what that right way is.

This is what I love about our PR community, real access to real journalists who want to help small businesses get seen.

Who's excited to meet Emily and get her take on your pitch?

I've learned there's so much more to life than just chasing money.

Last week I saw a Forbes PR opportunity and remembered someone who made handmade leather bags.

She hadn't been in my program for 4 years, but I sent it to her anyway.

She got featured.

I was at a stoplight in Brooklyn when she messaged me and I literally started crying. Nothing makes me happier than seeing people win.

This is what I mean by choosing values over approval-seeking. I'm defining success differently now, and yeah - it's not going to vibe with everyone.

I had 150 people unsubscribe. They called me fake, told me to "stay in my lane," stop talking politics.

But then something amazing happened. My follower count skyrocketed.

People who were truly aligned started finding me - people I never would have reached if I'd kept playing it safe with the same vanilla Instagram content.

We can't live in neutrality anymore. Not with everything happening in the world. People want to know what you stand for, what you're against.

Same-same isn't cutting it. Being bold and unapologetic about who you are is the only way forward.

Running full speed but going absolutely nowhere.

Post a Reel Monday.
Dead by Tuesday.
Instagram Story Wednesday.
Gone in 24 hours.
LinkedIn post Thursday.
Buried by Friday.

The content treadmill never stops. You’re constantly running just to stay in the same place while the algorithm decides if anyone sees your work.

And here’s the kicker, you could create the most brilliant post of your life, and it’ll be irrelevant by tomorrow.

Meanwhile, that article that got featured in 2 years ago?

Still driving traffic to your website. Still showing up in Google searches. Still building authority every single day.

That’s the difference between social media content and PR.

Social media is renting space. PR is buying real estate.

One media feature creates SEO backlinks that work for years.

Your social posts get buried under cat videos in hours.

This is exactly what journalist Emily will be talking about on our VIP call Jul 18th, how to get featured in media that actually builds lasting authority instead of just feeding the algorithm beast.

I’m not saying ditch social media completely. But maybe it’s time to get off the content treadmill and invest in something that actually builds long-term visibility.

Your future self will thank you when you’re not scrambling to post 3 times a day just to stay relevant. 💖

Meet Emily, the journalist behind some of your favorite features in Brides, People, Byrdie, Travel + Leisure, and Real Simple.

On July 18th, she's joining our community to share exactly what catches her eye in a pitch, what makes her immediately hit delete, and how small businesses can actually get on her radar.

This isn't some generic "how to write a press release" workshop.

This is a real journalist telling you the real tea about what happens on the other side of your pitch emails.

Most people pay thousands to PR agencies who promise this kind of access. We're just... giving it to you directly.

Because your story deserves to be told, and you deserve to know exactly how to tell it in a way that gets noticed.

Comment “PR” if you’ve ever sent a pitch and heard crickets back 👇

Most small business owners think journalists are ignoring them because their story isn’t good enough.

But the real problem? You’re speaking a completely different language.

When you say “attached is my press release,” they hear “we think we’re special, cover us for free.”

When you say “we’re disrupting the industry,” they hear “generic startup speak, delete.”

The gap between what you mean and what they actually hear is costing you media coverage.

This is exactly why I’m bringing Emily, who writes for Brides, People, Byrdie, Travel + Leisure, and Real Simple, to meet our community on July 18th.

She’s going to tell you exactly what gets her attention and what makes her hit delete.

No more guessing what journalists want.
No more sending pitches into the void.

I'm very intentional about who I connect with. Not the most popular people or those who can "benefit my business" the most.

I choose my vibe tribe based on values - inclusion, equity, getting curious about different lived experiences. People who reject this toxic internalized capitalism that says success only looks like jets and money.

I'm done with the "if I can do it, you can too" bullsh*t that ignores reality. Not everyone can invest $20K in a mastermind.

People have generational stuff they're dealing with, parents who don't speak English that they care for.

This is what I mean by going from approval-seeking, watered-down content to calling out the BS in bro marketing.

Here's what this looks like in real life...

I saw a Forbes PR opportunity and remembered someone who made handmade leather bags - hadn't been in my program for 4 years. I sent it to her anyway. She got featured.

I was at a stoplight in downtown Brooklyn when she messaged me, and I literally started crying. Nothing makes me happier than seeing people win.

That's the richness I'm after. Not just money, but genuine connection and lifting each other up.

Comment which publication Emily writes for that you want to be featured in: Brides, People, Byrdie, Travel + Leisure, or Real Simple?

This is exactly why I bring top 1% journalists directly to my small business community.

No gatekeepers, no $10K retainers, no wondering if your story is "good enough."

On July 18th, we're having a VIP call with Emily, who writes for all of these publications.

She's going to meet our founders, answer their questions, and give them the real inside scoop on what she's actually looking for.

Anyone else tired of hearing "you need to know someone to get media coverage"? We're changing that narrative one direct connection at a time.

The traditional PR industry has kept this world exclusive for too long.

Your story deserves to be told, regardless of who you know or how much you can spend on an agency.

This is how we're creating ACCESS for everyday indie brands who've been told they need connections or huge budgets to get featured. 💗

What's one project that looked way easier from the outside than it actually was?

You get that spark of inspiration.

The brilliant idea.

So you dive in with complete confidence and then... reality hits.

Suddenly you're flailing around trying to figure out what you actually signed up for.

The budget is blown. The timeline is a joke. The "simple" project has seventeen moving parts you never saw coming.

So you climb back up, dust yourself off, and stare at the water again.

Here's what nobody tells you...

This is exactly how it's supposed to work.

All those "overnight success" stories you see?

They're just people who got really good at editing out the part where they climbed back up on the dock five times before they figured out how to swim.

The business world loves to sell you the fantasy that successful people have it all mapped out before they start.

That's bullsh*t.

Most breakthrough moments come from diving in before you're ready.

But here's what I've learned...

There's a difference between strategic risk-taking and just throwing sh*t at the wall.

The key is knowing which dock to dive off of.

I've always had complicated feelings about July 4th as a daughter of immigrants.

But after my NYC experience last week, I found the America worth celebrating.

It's not billionaire tech bros or perfect Instagram feeds.

It's Karen pouring candles while grieving her mother.

It's founders juggling customer emails between school drop-offs.

It's women writing handwritten notes to strangers saying "I see how hard you're working."

It's messy, real, and doesn't fit on a bumper sticker.

But it gives me hope.

What are you most proud of when you look at the life you're creating?

07/07/2025

Have you ever been rejected for your values and felt... relieved?

A couple weeks ago someone told me they wouldn't work with me because we're "not aligned in our messaging and values" after looking at my social media.

And honestly? I felt like I'd finally made it.

For years, I watered myself down trying to be the "nice girl" in business.

I stayed quiet about things that mattered to me because I didn't want to lose potential clients or opportunities.

I followed all the "don't mix politics with business" advice while watching the world burn around us.

But here's what I learned:

When you try to be palatable for everyone, you end up being magnetic to no one.

That "rejection"?

That's my messaging working exactly as it should.

It's filtering out people who fundamentally disagree with my values while attracting the ones who've been searching for someone who finally gets it.

Your authentic voice isn't supposed to appeal to everyone.

It's supposed to call in your people and respectfully send everyone else on their way.

Stop apologizing for having opinions.
Stop shrinking yourself to fit into rooms where you don't belong.

The right people will find you when you're being unapologetically YOU.

I found my people, and you are so welcome here. DM me "COMMUNITY" if you're ready to stop watering yourself down and start being seen for who you really are.

Here's what changed everything for me: going from approval-seeking to values-driven.

I used to be the ultimate people pleaser.

Moved 13 times as a kid, never had a stable home, so I became a chameleon - adapting to everyone, asking 20 people for feedback before I'd post anything.

I watered down my opinions to be nice and palatable. Tried to be the "girl next door" like other successful coaches.

It wasn't working.

Through my healing work, I realized I was rejecting my own humanity. There's so much depth to what we're all going through - grief, complexity, real s**t that isn't "marketable" but is actually what connects us.

So I stopped dancing for approval and started speaking my values clearly. I talk about race. I talk about shopping small. I feature diverse founders. I discuss grief as our greatest teacher.

Now my business is more profitable than ever, but more importantly, I'm attracting incredible humans who actually align with what I stand for.

When you stop trying to please everyone and start being values-driven, you stop being vanilla and start being magnetic.
