The African Diaspora International Film Festival
Our interaction with filmmakers and producers helped us understand that for many of them, a film was the materialization of a need to tell a story. We thought we could help. The editorial line of the African Diaspora International Film Festival reflects the richness and diversity of the life experience of people of color all over the world.
The film scene has tremendously changed since 1993. However, the need to tell a story to the world remains.
As we look at films like The Journey of the Lion, Stand Down Soldier, The Tracker, The Citizen, Otomo, Sins of the Flesh, Rosa Chumbe, Scheherazade, Tell Me A Story, White Lies,La Playa D.C., Tango Negro: The African Roots of Tango, Goodbye Momo/A Dios Momo, Mama Africa: Miriam Makeba, Gurumbe: Afro-Andalousian Memories and many more, we realized these are stories that have something unique to tell. We are still loyal to our editorial line and the pursuit of our dream of exposing those stories to the world. The readings are multiple in many of these titles. Therefore, the viewing is rich, revealing and thought provoking.
