Walter Rodney taught us that the role of culture is to awaken consciousness, build community power, and sharpen our understanding of the world. His voice still calls on us to see clearly, question deeply, and act with purpose.

ADIFF 2025 brings that spirit to the screen — films that challenge silence, honor resistance, and celebrate the beauty and struggle of people of color all over the world.

Join us in this journey of truth-telling and transformation.

The eclectic selection of the recent and the less recent is part of ADIFF's editorial line. We want to mark the centennial anniversary of Frantz Fanon and Malcom X with a program we called Pan-African Legacies: Frantz Fanon and Malcolm X. Check https://bit.ly/ADIFF-fanon
Frantz Fanon

🎥 ADIFF NYC 2025: Mapping the Caribbean
Myth, Memory & the Sound of Freedom

The 33rd edition of the African Diaspora International Film Festival turns its lens toward the Caribbean—not as postcard scenery, but as a space shaped by resistance, imagination, and cultural legacy.

This year's selection moves between the mythical shores of Curaçao, the political streets of Guyana, and the healing kitchens of Haiti. Together, these stories explore how Caribbean memory and sound continue to evolve—both at home and across the diaspora.

The African Diaspora International Film Festival

Our interaction with filmmakers and producers helped us understand that for many of them, a film was the materialization of a need to tell a story. We thought we could help. The editorial line of the African Diaspora International Film Festival reflects the richness and diversity of the life experience of people of color all over the world.

The film scene has tremendously changed since 1993. However, the need to tell a story to the world remains. As we look at films like The Journey of the Lion, Stand Down Soldier, The Tracker, The Citizen, Otomo, Sins of the Flesh, Rosa Chumbe, Scheherazade, Tell Me A Story, White Lies,La Playa D.C., Tango Negro: The African Roots of Tango, Goodbye Momo/A Dios Momo, Mama Africa: Miriam Makeba, Gurumbe: Afro-Andalousian Memories and many more, we realized these are stories that have something unique to tell. We are still loyal to our editorial line and the pursuit of our dream of exposing those stories to the world. The readings are multiple in many of these titles. Therefore, the viewing is rich, revealing and thought provoking. Check www.AfricanDiasporaDVD.com or on Amazon amzn.to/2tGxkBz to discover some of the titles mentioned above.
