Make a list and check it twice! 📝 We all have so much going on. Start your day off right by becoming a list maker! Write down what you need to get done each morning in order of priority. This not only helps you remember, but there’s great satisfaction in crossing things off your list as you accomplish them. Head to patriciastark.com for more tips!
Sometimes our mind can feel like a shaken snow globe with 1,000 thoughts swirling around. A quick way to counteract this is to close your eyes and picture your mind as that shaken snow globe. Visualize your thoughts as the snow and watch as they slow down and gently settle, allowing your mind to become clear. ❄️❄️❄️
Learn how to make your own Calmfidence® snow globe by heading to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1y7FkAu-MQ
Are you craving a cup of hot cocoa but are nervous that the large amount of sugar will send your anxiety through the roof? Well, do I have a game changer for you! Try out this calming hot chocolate recipe that is packed with nutrients and will aid in relaxation while warming you right up! Find the recipe here: https://patriciastark.com/calming-hot-chocolate/
Check the Daily Weather in your head! Even if it’s raining outside (or on the verge of a snowstorm like it is here in New York) you can choose to have a sunny attitude. But if clouds and gloom are showing up on your emotional Doppler Radar, treat yourself to a little light – paint your nails, buy a new book, treat yourself to some Starbucks (the Chai Tea Latte works like magic for me), listen to a new song, or call an old friend. If you sense a real storm is brewing, hold off on making any important decisions today and take a mental health day if you can. The sun will come out tomorrow, and so will your Calmfidence®.

Become a Rapid Responder! Reply to emails and voicemails as soon as you receive them. This will do two things - you’ll gain the confidence of those you're responding to by being efficient AND you’ll feel more confident that voice-mails and emails aren’t piling up and overwhelming you. Don’t let stress get in the way from enjoying all that the holidays have to offer. One study out of Wheeling Jesuit University showed the scent of cooling peppermint is linked to cognitive stimulation, motivation, and performance. It’s calming & uplifting effect can help ease anxiety and even settle nervous or upset stomach. ‘Tis the season of Peace, Love, Joy & Peppermint!
Did you know Green tea contains many polyphenol antioxidants which provide health benefits? It may lower stress and anxiety by increasing serotonin levels. Green tea is high in l-theanine, an amino acid that reduces anxiety.
Often, we feel tired, anxious, or scared to complete a task or begin working towards a new goal. But, next time, instead of procrastinating, think about how happy your future self will be that you got started! Whether it's starting your fitness journey, writing an essay that's due next week, or even just making your bed in the morning, make sure to do a nice thing for the future you today!
Be the boss of your thoughts. Turn your negative thoughts into positive ones. Picture yourself facing your fears head-on. The more you do this, the easier it will be to find your Calmfidence®!
Run the day or the day runs you!
Did you know aerobic exercises like running or walking can reduce anxiety & tension? Moving your body decreases muscle tension, lowers anxiety levels, and releases feel good endorphins that help maintain a stable well-being. What is your go-to exercise?
Overcome. You'll survive all the anxiety, and come out stronger! There are always better days on the horizon ahead. Trust Yourself. Have Calmfidence®️!
Do you often overthink and jump to the worst case scenario? You can STOP anxiety in its tracks by trying the stop sign visualization method:
1. When you feel overwhelmed, picture a big red stop sign and say the word "stop" either out loud or to yourself.
2. Negate the negative thought by exchanging it for a positive one.
3. When you have your positive thought, repeat it either out loud or to yourself while practicing breathing techniques to calm yourself down.
4. Make sure to repeat this technique every time you have a negative or anxiety inducing thought.

Its #FocusFriday! After a long week behind you it is time to focus on yourself! Take a Break. This will help to actually boost your future productivity, focus & creativity. Mental Breaks have been proven beneficial in resetting your mood and increased energy levels. Give your brain a break and recharge your Calmfidence®!
Happy Veterans Day! Thank you to all those who have served our country for your bravery & tremendous sacrifice. Today, we remember all you have done to serve & protect us.
Sweat, but don't sweat it! Exercise produces endorphins, which are the chemicals in the brain that diminish the perception of pain, improve the ability to sleep, and make you overall happier. Yoga, in particular, blends both physical activity with meditation, breathing techniques, and relaxation methods to help you de-stress. Hop on your mat for at least 15 minutes every day to find your Calmfidence®! #motivationmonday
It’s been a stress filled week for many but today let’s focus on some stress relief! Here’s one way to flip the switch to turn off stress -This visualization exercise works!
First, get in the most comfortable position you can. Now picture bright light bulbs placed on your body starting at your toes. See them on each toe, top of your foot, heels, and ankles. Now move up and place them on each shin, knee, thigh, hip, your naval, chest, back, and shoulders. Do the same with your fingers, palms, wrists, elbows and shoulders. Finish off with your neck, chin, nose, cheeks, eyes, ears and finally the top of your head. Now slowly and deliberately start back at your toes and turn off each light. As you see each light go dark feel each area relax and then move on to the next. By the time you get to the top of your head you have a more relaxed body, mind & spirit. 💡
With all the uncertainty going on in America this week, #stressawarenessday could not have come at a better time! When you're feeling overwhelmed, it's important to have some stress reduction tools up your sleeve, such as the 4x4 breathing technique: Inhale through your nose to a slow count of 4. Hold at the top of the breath for a count of 4. Then, gently exhale through your mouth for a count of 4. At the bottom of the breath, pause and hold for the count of 4. What stress reduction techniques do you use to boost your Calmfidence®?

As the holiday season approaches and the cold weather rolls in, make sure you stay warm and relaxed with a cup of your favorite tea! These days, there are so many different flavors of tea to choose from that can soothe your stress and boost your Calmfidence®! What is your favorite flavor of tea? #motivationmonday

Scare away your anxiety this Halloween with pumpkin! Pumpkin seeds are packed with Tryptophan. This amino acid produces Melatonin, which makes you sleepy, and serotonin, the neurotransmitter that helps you relax and improves your mood. After you carve up your Jack-o-Lantern this Halloween season, make sure to roast the seeds so you can stay relaxed and gain back your Calmfidence®!

Be WITH your audience, not separate from them. How can you help them, inspire them, educate them, motivate them and maybe even entertain them? What is their need? What is their concern? Think of yourself as one of them – not a removed and disconnected entity in front of them.

Calmfidence™ Tip of the Day- The calming sound of wind chimes can release stress, improve your focus, calm your mind and create an instant relaxing environment. Wind chimes increase creativity and give you inspiration. They can also be a peaceful way to fall asleep, and to wake up to start off your day in a positive way. Some believe that wind chimes help enhance the mind/body/spirit connection, giving us a sense of well being. If you can't hang wind chimes where you are - like in your office or on the road, playing a wind chime video or sound on a device or phone can have the same calming effect on your body & mind and will help your focus.
