Passion Flower is getting rave reviews as a stress and anxiety buster and it’s easy to find and easy to use! Recent clinical trials using passion flower show it is one of the most valuable and effective herbal anxiety remedies found in nature.

Dr. Josh Axe offers this advice:

How to Use Passion Flower, Including Recipes
The most common ways to use Passion Flower is in teas, liquid extracts, tinctures and in capsules. Take a trip to your local health food store and see what options they have. You may want to try an infusion or tea by steeping 1 teaspoon of the dried herb in a cup of boiling water for about 10 minutes. Then strain and sip.
You can also try adding passion flower to your bath water for relaxation. The typical dose of passion flower is about 1 to 2 grams, finely chopped. You can make a tea is by steeping a teaspoon of dried herb in a cup of boiling water for a few minutes and you can have two or three cups throughout the day.
If you are taking it to help with sleep, make sure to drink at least an hour before going to bed.

Passion Flower & Chamomile Anxiety Reliever Tea
1–1/2 teaspoons dried chamomile�1–1/2 teaspoons dried passion flower�1 teaspoon local honey (optional)�I cup of water
Hot Flash Eliminator Passion Rose Tea
1/2 teaspoon dried chamomile�1/2 teaspoon dried passion flower�1/2 teaspoon dried St. John’s Wort�1/2 teaspoon dried valerian root�1 teaspoon local honey (optional)�1 cup of water
Prepare either tea by using a saucepan. Bring the water to a low boil then turn off the stove. Add the herbs to the water. You can use a muslin bag or tea infuser. Cover with a lid right away so that the oils from the flowers do not evaporate.
Allow it to steep for about 10–12 minutes. Remove from the stove, strain if needed, and pour yourself a cup. Then add some local, organic honey if desired. Try this at any time when you may feel anxious or at night before bed.

Combat your Inner Critic with your Inner Coach!

Everyone has an icy IC - the Inner Critic. It won't go away but you can stop taking direction from it. One highly effective way to drown out its annoying voice is to replace that voice with a better one - your other IC - your Inner Coach:

1- Speak to yourself the way you would if you were the head coach of your favorite team - encouraging, positive, determined.

2- You cannot listen to both voices simultaneously -
actively choose the coach over the critic.

3- Boil it down to three words of your choosing that you can repeat to yourself
to kick into positive thinking.

4- Use your name when you talk to yourself - studies show this technique makes self talk 50% more effective in reaching your subconscious mind.

Where did all 124 of the Munchkins stay during the filming of the Wizard of Oz? The Culver Hotel in Culver City California. Learned that bit of trivia when I checked in yesterday! Apparently they slept 3 to a bed! John Wayne once owned this 93 year old hotel as well. Legend has it that he won it in a card game against Charlie Chaplin. It’s a gorgeous old hotel with such a wonderful old Hollywood feel.
