BMW X3 "The Pier" (2021) TVC and Online 30sec Final
Meet the freelancer creating high-end commercials for . David Barker, a Taipei-based DP fluent in English and Mandarin, has produced, filmed, and directed nine commercials for BMW Taiwan.
For this project, BMW wanted to promote the updated features of the BMW X3 in an “attractive and unusual way.”
David and his team thought of filming outdoors but decided against it because of the unpredictable spring weather. No fear: They conjured a "nutty" alternative of creating a lake and pier set in the studio.
“With some clever lighting and post-production work, it would give us the nature vibe we wanted, but also allow us to shoot at a consistent light all day long, allowing us to get all of the little details that BMW requested," David said.

Anton sought to broaden his skills during the pandemic. He reached out to make-up artist Lauren Kay, who has worked for some of the UK’s biggest celebrities, to create a short film together. It was a “test shoot” - a way to try something new.
It soon led to more opportunities for Anton: Lauren, who also owns a tea brand, commissioned Anton to create several short films to promote her company.
“After working on this video with Lauren, we have worked together on many music videos and recently on a series of videos for The Purpose Academy, a high profile business and life coaching program.”

For this project, BMW wanted to promote the updated features of the BMW X3 in an “attractive and unusual way.”
David and his team thought of filming outdoors but decided against it because of the unpredictable spring weather. No fear: They conjured a "nutty" alternative of creating a lake and pier set in the studio.
“With some clever lighting and post-production work, it would give us the nature vibe we wanted, but also allow us to shoot at a consistent light all day long, allowing us to get all of the little details that BMW requested," David said.
