The Sacred Way with Alyssa Snow

The Sacred Way with Alyssa Snow The Sacred Way explores nervous system regulation, emotional awareness, and spiritual practice.

This is the work of expanding our capacity to remain steady, connected, and conscious in the midst of real life. With a degree in accounting and finance, Alyssa has had a successful career in corporate supporting entrepreneurs until she became one herself in 2007. Her first business, MindBodySoul Yoga + Wellness, was a well-respected and successful brick-and-mortar studio in NYC which closed during the pandemic. Going with the flow of life, in trust and resiliency, Alyssa opened her second business: Alyssa Snow Coaching. This business is in true alignment with her calling: to teach consciousness and to help women rise up and out of their subconscious minds into their highest selves for true transformation into ease and peace in whatever they choose to do. Her experience as a therapeutic foster parent informs all of relations to be trauma-sensitive and aware. Alyssa believes we are here to strengthen our ability to tap into the highest aspects of ourselves. And that our own life experiences are our most valuable assets to achieve that - if we only develop enough awareness to grasp the lessons our soul wants us to learn. Her book Easy Does it: A Purpose-Driven Women’s Guide to Conscious Calm and her various programs offer a way to show up in the world that is conscious, powerful, and connected.

I've been quiet on this feed for a few years. You may have noticed I changed the name from Alyssa Snow Wisdom to The Sacred Way with Alyssa Snow. It's been five years since I've taught groups publicly. I've been quietly contracting, going inward and getting regulated and clear. I want to help folks do that too. I can also show you how to make a great sourdough. But that's just my jam. Mostly I'm here to help you do what you truly enjoy. I hope you enjoy this piece. More soon.

Awareness of our internal landscape is primary for the development of wisdom.

I bought myself roses and put them in my hallway. I’m training myself to literally “stop and smell the roses” several times a day.

I usually move fast. My eyes see what’s undone. Laundry piled up. A messy kid’s room. Dishes in the sink. If I’m not careful, I can fixate on all that is wrong.

The roses are my teacher this week. Their sweet beauty can’t help but attract my attention. There’s nothing to fix here, they communicate.

Breathe us in, they beckon. I answer their call. I dip my nose and receive them - through my nose and straight into my heart.

I’m reminded of how much I love the smell and then I’m reminded of how much I love my daughters, and then I’m reminded of how amazing they are and what strong, independent women they are becoming.

And then I think of Steve, such a loving man, such a great dad. And then I think of my dad, more complicated but yet, not. I am who I am because of him. My eyes well up. My heart aches as my mom comes to mind. She tended my grandmother’s rose bush long after my grandmother was unable to enjoy them on this earth. Boy did she love to garden. Flowers in every sun drenched corner of the yard.

She’s gone now, but is she? The scent of the rose brings her to me. She’s righthere.

I’m back in my body - the roses transported me in 60 seconds to all these places in my mind that are seeped in love.

Find a rose today. See where your heart takes you.

We are all finding ourselves immersed in a collective soup of fear. It feels as if every situation in the world is carrying the weight of doom.

Because that is what we are shown. The news does not show us stories of us loving each other, caring for eachother and supporting each other.

And yet.

I know in my heart; on this earth, despite what we are shown, love is the vibration on the ground.

The love of parents for their children and children for parents.

The love of a grandparent for their grandchild.

The love of two people connecting and falling in love.

The love of two people staying in love.

The love of a young girl and her dog.

The love of best friends.

The love of sisters and brothers and cousins.

Family.

The love of those who have passed on.

The love in grief.

The love of the neighbor who feeds your cats while you are away.

The love of the friendly woman who walks the same path as you daily and always offers a smile and a wave.

The love of the barista who sees you coming and has your coffee ready the way you like it.

The love of that first sip of coffee.

The love of the woman or organizes free food refrigerators all over the city so people don’t go hungry.

The love of the volunteers that bring blankets to homeless people on cold winter nights.

The love of brave warriors and healers that go willingly into war zones to reduce suffering.

Love.

It is everywhere.

It is you.

It is me.

It is all of us.

I’ve been pining for a more rural lifestyle. Dreaming of a house upstate with land and space for more foster children. A barn to teach. A space for glamping. Another phase. The next one.

I still look ahead.

I struggle with the volume of the Bronx. The relentless traffic. The urban matrix of humans living thisclosetogether.

I still resist.

And.

Nature reveals itself wherever you seek it.

The hawk in my yard reminds me that my own backyard is a nature habitat.

The raccoons in my tree remind me I share my yard with some frisky beings.

The coyote in my park remind me that nature is everywhere.

God/Nature/Source/Sacred shows me my favorite colors on my run in my neighborhood park.

My yoga mat today is a stretch of green grass under a canopy of infinite blue skies.

Right where I am. Here and now. In the Bronx.

I'm really looking forward to offering this "Sacred Saturday" in Washington Heights this coming weekend. Ya'll, the world is stressful. Life can feel relentless, like we are little gerbils on a wheel that doesn't stop spinning. Give yourself a break and come and be cared for both by me and by yourself. The mini-retreat is by donation. You can come to all of it or just a class. And whatever you are doing, wherever you are; please take good care of your heart. ❤️❤️

Join Alyssa Snow Wisdom this (Sacred) Saturday, October 19! Purchase workshops individually, or bundle all three Sacred Saturday workshops for a Mini-Retreat at a discount. There will be a 15-minute break between workshops. Reserve Your Seat at the “Events/Workshops” link in the comments! 🙏

Tuesday Sept 10th will mark the 2 year anniversary of my mother’s physical death.

For my dad.

This “kiss” came the summer my mother began her dying process.

Hi Washington Heights and NYC friends! I invite you to a different kind of class experience. One where we contemplate what is possible for ourselves and our inner experience. One where we meditate on these "Sacred Kisses" and discuss these highfalutin concepts like surrendering and hanging out in discomfort and waking up. What does it actually look like in our daily life? How can feeling BAD actually be in our best interest? What a concept, huh?

I invite you to explore with me. This Saturday at 11:15am at Heights Meditation & Yoga, Inc. 551 Fort Washington. By donation. All are welcome. There will be hugging.

Also, my latest kiss. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

My latest Kiss on Substack. Enjoy! To receive them when they are released (every Sunday at 6:30am), please subscribe. You are amazing exactly as you are, so if you just want to read them when you see them on FB, that's cool too. 😂😂😂😂

For a good portion of my adult life, I have been addicted to improvement. “Self-Help” was my book genre and being better, feeling better and doing better was my inner goal, always. I was not ever healed enough, aware enough, awake enough. I opened a yoga and wellness center in honor of that inne...
