Most roads have a simple relationship with rain - water gets into damaged pavement, the damage grows, and potholes appear. Israel Antonio Briseño Carmona decided to turn that problem around.

While studying Civil Engineering at the Autonomous University of Coahuila, Briseño developed PAFLEC, Pavimento Flexible Capaz de Regenerarse, a pavement material incorporating recycled tire rubber and additives. When exposed to water, the material undergoes a chemical reaction intended to help regenerate cracks and damaged areas.

The project won the 2019 James Dyson Award Mexico. It has also moved beyond the classroom: reporting from Mexico says PAFLEC has been used on roads in Camargo, Chihuahua, and Torreón, Coahuila etc so far.

The latest publicly available Gallup data show adult obesity falling from 39.9% in 2022 to 36.8% in 2026. That's a real decline, but it began before Trump took office. Between 2024 and 2026, Gallup's figure fell only 0.7 percentage points.

Experts have also pointed to the growing use of GLP-1 weight-loss medications as one possible contributor. Public evidence isn't strong enough to conclude that Trump's policies caused the decline.

An exhausted new mother was trying to care for her baby during a flight from Newark, New Jersey, to Grand Rapids, Michigan, when she slowly fell asleep with the baby on her lap.

That's when Republic Airways flight attendant Monique Harris noticed the baby beginning to slide. She quickly caught the child, then offered to hold him so the mother could rest.

This Lamborghini wasn’t being used for a joyride.

Italy’s State Police used a Lamborghini Huracán to transport a donor kidney from Padua to Rome, a journey of about 489 km that was completed in a little over two hours. ANSA reported an average speed of about 233 km/h for the journey.

The Huracán is specially used by Italy’s traffic police for urgent transportation of organs and other medical materials. Its role is to get critical cargo where it needs to go quickly while helping preserve helicopters for emergencies that require them
