Is it normal to have a dealership wheel alignment fail after 2 months and 1.2k miles driven on 2019 Santa Fe?
So back on December 23rd, 2025, I had an alignment done at a dealership in North NJ on my 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe with 58,490 miles on it (I got new tires from Costco and I put in new brakes and pads). No issues with either. The first image is what they performed.
Yesterday, on February 24th, 2026, at 59,759 miles, I took the car back for a recall (another anti-theft one). They noted that I need another wheel alignment (see second picture)... after two months and about 1.2k miles of only road driving, let's say 50% highway.
The question: Is this indicative of a bad wheel alignment job (e.g. not locking in components, nuts, etc. when they were done) or a case of luck/bad conditions (pot holes, rough driving)? Note, I don't recall hitting any massive pot holes. Just wondering if this rarely happens or happens all the time since I would have thought the alignment would be in the green for a lot longer than it did. The dealership rep chalked it up to "driving in NJ".
