Mission: Everyone loves to share a good story. People cut them out of Guideposts magazines and copy them out of our books to give them to friends and family as a reminder that with God all things are possible. One day, a customer sent us a Guideposts story taped to an index card (so that it could arrive in one piece) with a note telling us how it helped her through a hard time. It was an ah-ha moment! As Guideposts’ co-founder, Ruth Stafford Peale, used to say, “Find a need and fill it.” Let’s make an easy and beautiful way for people to encourage others, we thought. In that moment, back in 1992, Someone Cares was born. It began as Someone Cares greeting cards, each card featuring a story on the back from Daily Guideposts, our bestselling devotional, about finding God’s presence in ordinary moments. It grew into a community of encouragers who’ve discovered that doing simple acts of kindness for others brings blessings back to them as well. Someone Cares gives people a way to share their love, to share God’s love and to simply let others know that someone cares. Our hope is that Someone Cares will inspire you and then inspire you to inspire others . . .starting never-ending circles of blessings.
