Well, excuse my fine China, but this is breakfast in the South! Biscuits, scrambled eggs, and EVERYBODY gets sausage gravy! Looks like a terrible mess, as there’s no pretty way to plate it. But it’s one of my favorite breakfasts. Cardiologist isn’t very fond of it, but I didn’t invite him to breakfast anyway!

Fried chicken Alfredo quesadillas with a side of Alfredo dipping sauce.

Fried chicken (grocery store deli), shredded cheese (I used mozzarella), Alfredo sauce (I used jar Alfredo and seasoned it) all on a burrito tortilla.

My great Aunt Prudie made a breakfast (anytime treat) called "Rival Pie"... went well with a glass of cold milk or a hot cup of coffee... She gave my mother the recipe and before my mother passed she gave her handwritten recipe to me. My Aunt Prudie never married and took care of my grandfather's (her brother), place... They never had running water.. just a pitcher pump on one side of the sink.. "Pap" had an outhouse. This breakfast treat was from the early half of the last century., I'm 71 and remember those homemade breakfasts as a small child.. Dad grew up on the farm in the mountains of PA.. A Dutchman... I love sharing this family recipe... I am the only one who makes them.. It'll die with me if I don't share with others.

just came upon an entire crate of carrots (like an entire truck bed overflowing!) 😳 looking for your carrot ideas, preferably options without a pressure cooker if you’re brave enough lol I only have an insta pot & I am reading it’s not good for canning 😤

The perfect summer dessert!
Fruit Pizza
One roll sugar cookie dough
One block cream cheese
One tub cool whip
A dash of vanilla extract
Half a cup powdered sugar
Fruit of your choice

Flatten your cookie dough into a big crust and bake at 350 for about 15 mins. Let it cool completely. Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth. Then add coolwhip and mix until combined. Once crust is cool, top with the coolwhip mixture and spread evenly. Add any fruit you choose and enjoy! Keep covered in the fridge.

We grew up using sliced grapes, kiwi, banana, strawberry, blueberries and cherries but this is mostly what we had on hand and it's so good. You can add nuts, caramel drizzle, chocolate chips. It's so so versatile!

Hot sauce

FYI...if you are transporting meals to a loved one, use a muffin tin! Perfect portions for seniors! So much easier than multiple containers! And they can just throw the tin in the toaster over to heat through or spoon individual servings onto a microwave safe dish, heat and serve!

Y’all!!! Amaretto peaches!!! So good, and it’s a good thing because it’s never happening again. I just started canning this year, so first (and last) time canning peach anything. What a total pain in the butt!!!

Recipe (idea credit goes to Brett someone who posted a bourbon peaches recipe in this group):
7 cups peaches
2 cups water
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 T Amaretto (mighta put a little more)

Bring water and brown sugar to boil for about 5 minutes. Add amaretto. Pack pint jars with peaches. Pour in syrup. WB for 20 minutes.

Note the original recipe said to boil the peaches in the syrup for 5 minutes. I didn’t do that. I packed the peaches into warm jars then poured in the syrup and processed it.
