EXPAT FILES - 01.26.20

Descriptions- EXPAT FILES SHOW #924 SUN- JAN 26 (01-26-2020):
#1- TEN things you need to know before selecting a Latin American Bank for your dollar and local funny-money account(s):
If you have a “Plan B” you will eventually need a Latin Bank account or two. And with each Latin country having a dozen or so banks (some being quite iffy…) today we discuss how to choose a solid bank for our purposes.
#2- Certain Latin banks offer US dollar CD’s that pay 5% yearly interest and have local funny money CD’s that pay 10%. Sound’s good… but should you bite?
#3- Lost in translation- PART 3:
Is it “Tontos polticos” or Tontas politicos”.. or both? One phrase means “many” politicians, and one means “stupid” politicians. It would be nice if gringos and expats knew the difference (if there is one)…
#4- Living with broke and bankrupt Latin governments (sound familiar?)
#5- Cell phone and internet insecurity in Latin America
#6- Russian hackers in Latin America:
Ruskies have recently discovered- and are now exploiting- Latin America’s “Lag Time” effect as it applies to piss poor internet and cell phone security. Should gringos and expats be worried? In a word… YES!

#7- Be sure to pick up my "LATIN AMERICAN HEALTHCARE REPORT":
It's the new edition for 2020 (and beyond) including the latest "Stem Cell" info and data and my top picks for the best treatment centers for expats and gringos. Just go to www.theexpatfiles.com and click on the "Latin American Healthcare Report”.

Economic Update - Military Spending and Debt

Updates on France's successful mass uprisings (Yellow Vests in 2019; mass union strikes in 2020) that forced gov't to back down on changes that workers opposed; how endless wars impose huge debts; and how US Catholic Church uses bankruptcy law to keep assets from compensating victims of pedophile priests. Interview journalist Bob Hennelly on military spending and debts in the US economy.

The methods of mass mind control are explored today. Vince energetically points out our collective inability to have constructive dialogue; "we don’t seek clarification we just yell at each other which creates violence and drives opposing parties further apart." Next we hear about Martin Luther King Jr. and how he would be treated by the government today, had they not taken him out in 68. He reports on the Dummycrat agenda to bump off Burney 2.0 and a righty rifle rally. Suddenly he takes a phone call that became very eerie. I can't explain what happened next but it shocked me! All I can say for sure is Tom Waits was featured today. Because of technical difficulties at this point Vinny Jr. plays us a recording of Vince giving a speech at a recent Burney rally in Chicago. Energy Stew - There's so much about Zen that's misunderstood

Brad Warner is a known Zen master who doesn't want to be known as a master. He doesn't believe there's anything to master. He's clear it's not a religion and there's no dogma to represent. So what is it? He has taught at hundreds of locations around the world to explain it to people and he's written many books about it. It's just a practice of sitting with what is. It's not about getting "chill" and creating peace. It's not about creating anything. There are no goals except to just sit for different lengths of time. It's not about creating comfort. It's really just about being present with whatever issues come to you. Of course there are monasteries that have very strict rules and strong punishments. That's not Zen to Brad. It's just a culture some groups have formed around it.
Brad Warner, the author of "Letters to a Dead Friend about Zen", has a lot to tell us about what it is and what it isn't. He has a lot to say about the misconceptions people have that have turned the word into many different kinds of products and services that have to do with peacefulness.

It's not really what Zen teaches. It only promotes a practice that expects people to sit in a particular posture for sometimes very long periods of time. Zen temples are not supposed to be friendly places. They're very serious about getting the job done and that's it. Sometimes, it's even too serious. Not all of us are designed to handle the rigors of it.

It's really great to hear from a long time practitioner who has traveled the world and visited temples and monasteries in remote places. He's given talks in many countries and has written many books. Don't miss this opportunity to hear from him.

Solartopia Green Power and Wellness Hour - HILLARY HATES BERNIE & DEMOCRACY….WHAT ELSE IS NEW?

We’re joined in Solartopia by ALAN MINSKY of Progressive Democrats of America and BOB FITRAKIS of Freepress.org to talk politics and sports.Hillary Clinton’s latest attacks on Bernie Sanders (“Nobody likes him”) revive the split within the Democratic Party between the corporatists and the social democrats.Bernie’s poll numbers continue to show unshakable support for an agenda that includes economic rights and social justice for the vast American working/middle class. He also represents the unlikely ascendence of the 1960s New Left to a position where one of us could actually become president. We inevitably deal with issues of election theft and Russian involvement, which has finally prompted the corporate media to deal with the reality that our elections are being stolen. We finish with the Olympic Committee’s insane ban on political protest (lotsa luck with that one) and the all-important question of who will win this year’s Super Bowl.

THE PROGRESSIVE CONNECTION by Stephen Manson - Amazon Books THIS IS A WARNING ABOUT READING THIS BOOK If you think our country is in distress because of Donald Trump, you are partially correct. But he is just the icing on the national calamity cake that has existed in the United States for years. This book, “The Progressive Connection”, will be an eye opener that will cause American citizens to realize that their country of wealth and freedom is trailing all the other industrialized nations and even some third world countries in the treatment of its citizens. Poverty, slums, drug addiction, crime, lack of health care and even the health and vulnerable life expectancy is such, that even in the country of Cuba, is not as prevalent. If you have always thought that you live in best country in the world, the United States of America, do not read this book! It will put you in a deep depression The contents of the book have no opinions nor personal comments by the author. Every fact is supported by a reliable source listed in the bibliography. Read it at your risk!
The Nordic countries and Switzerland have a combination of free market capitalism with a comprehensive socialistic welfare state that has been a model of humanitarianism throughout the entire world. [Stephen Manson author – The Progressive Connection] AMAZON BOOKS
A BOOK NOT NECESSARY TO READ The Progressive Connection by Stephen Manson is a book that is not necessary to read if you are satisfied with the health care system and that it may soon be eliminated by the new administration. It should not be read if you are happy with the outstanding 1.6 trillion-dollar student loan debt that may not be paid off until some of these people are in their 50s. If you agree with the idea that your country, the richest in the world, has more poverty and slums, crime, drug addicts, gun homicides than any of the other industrialized nations, then you should not have any interest in reading this book. If you are satisfied with the $1.6 trillion-dollar tax cut for the wealthy, instead of using that money to fix infrastructure, establish an environmental policy and aid the youth of the country with free education, then you have no need to read this book. So, if you are proud of your country for having the most obese people, a declining life expectancy, a rising suicide rate and an increase in drug overdoses, why even bother to find out how it could be improved? Be sure you never read, The Progressive Connection by Stephen Manson
BOOK – THE PROGRESSIVE CONNECTION Amazon Books By Stephen Manson offers a comparison between the United States and Europe, especially the Nordic countries of Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. These capitalistic democracies with social safety net programs have the highest standards of living in the world and equality among all of its citizens is considered one of the most important aspirations in their societies. The new Progressives in American politics have begun to embrace these values in their country which they see as increasingly favoring the wealthy and big business. These Progressives are striving to promote ideas and policies that should enhance the chances of American citizens enjoying what people in Europe, especially the Nordic countries, enjoy; health care for all, free college education, far more financial equality instead of poverty and slums, and so much more. This change in government could happen in the United States only if these progressive politicians can effectively educate and persuade, not just other politicians, but people in general as to why these basic humanitarian values can no longer be ignored. This book should be read by all Americans who have come to think that their country has been changing to an acceptance of values that are no longer wholesome and to a large degree, effect vast numbers of people in an unjust way.
Looking forward to the 12/4/2019, It's Our Money show to be available in the archives to share. Awesome show! lt's not just about bakning folks! PRN.FM has really great programming!
Watch this author make a VERY bold claim re: Trump's taxes live on TV, not something the mainstream media would generally cover. The clip starts at the relevant point, just watch for a minute or so and you'll see the part I'm talking about:
Surviving Iowa CORRUPT JUDGES COURTS POLICE www.youtube.com/user/Kornkobiowa
In Europe, concerning all the electricity consumed that was generated from renewable energy sources, Austria comes in with the highest rating at 72.6 percent. Sweden is second with 64.9 percent, Portugal 54.1, Denmark 53.7 and Latvia at 51.3 percent. By comparison the United States at only 11 percent of energy consumption from renewable energy sources is an absolute disgrace in this time in the life of this planet and its inhabitants. [Stephen Manson author – The Progressive Connection]
The Cato Institute’s Human Freedom Index of 2018 presents the state of human freedom in the world based on a broad measure that encompasses personal, civil, and economic freedom. The countries that took the top 10 places, in order, were New Zealand, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands and Denmark (tied in 6th place), Ireland and the United Kingdom (tied in 8th place), and Finland, Norway, and Taiwan (tied in 10th place). Selected countries rank as follows: Germany (13), the United States and Sweden (17). [Stephen Manson author]
