#TueNight #GenX #Community #Storytelling
As many of you know, our free weekly newsletter "The TueDo List" has been the foundation of the TueNight community (since day one way back in 2013).
It’s been a tremendous space for us to share our stories, obsessions, profiles, and links we know you’ll love.
ICYMI: We moved our newsletter to Substack in 2019 (early adopters!) and decided to add paid subscriptions in April 2022 to help us sustain the work we do.
You'll still get the weekly TueDo List delivered to your inbox every Tuesday — but by becoming a paid subscriber, you’ll be able to:
— Comment on weekly threads
— Participate in conversations
— Stay connected with each other
— Access exclusive Gen-X tailored content, monthly events, AMAs and more.
Come on over, check out the new digs, and learn more about our AH-MAZING journey with The TueNight Social: https://bit.ly/2PuTyF6.
We had such a great chat with psychotherapist and author of "How To Break Up With Your Friends" Erin Falconer about midlife friendships.
Our biggest takeaways:
— Margit and Erin discussed how setting boundaries can actually nurture friendships.
— We learned how to identify friendships that give us energy rather than take energy away from us.
It was a really insightful chat — in case you missed it, you can catch the FULL replay here: https://tuenight.substack.com/p/video-how-to-break-up-with-your-friends

About Last Week's Chat With Issa Mas On Grief
#MondayMotivation: Of course, it's a fact of life that we will experience grief — in so many ways (the loss of a loved one, a pet, a job, a home, a friend).
Today, we're sharing a snippet of Author and regular TueNight contributor Issa Mas' insights shared with Margit and our TueNighters community — including how to be okay with not being okay.
We had a great discussion about her new amazingly inspirational book "Grief Thoughts: Brief Anecdotes About Profound Loss," and much more.

How To Negotiate With the Confidence Of a Mediocre White Man
We had such a great time hosting our TueNight Live event, last week.
Here, 49yo TueNighter, Tracey Lynn Lloyd told us about what she learned when borrowing the confidence from a “Mediocre White Man” (MWM) during an interview and wage negotiation:
"It's okay for me to ask for what I want. And it's okay for me not to be absolutely perfect in every interview. I may not be a MWM, but I'll definitely be using their confidence to get what I want from the workplace."
How would you finish this sentence: "No one would say ________ to a man my age." Let us know in the comments below!

Why is perimenopause so misunderstood?
Earlier this year, we sat down and chatted with longtime community health advocate Denise Pines — she shared some excellent (and really important) information with us to help #GenX understand and prepare for menopause.
October is #MenopauseAwarenessMonth, so we thought it would be a good idea to help keep the conversation going and share our FULL interview with Denise, here.
It also gives our community a valuable opportunity to draw attention to the portrayal of menopause, which often casts this time of change (and older women) in a negative light.
We're also sharing a roundup of perimenopause stories and important menopause resources on TueNight.com: https://bit.ly/3meQl97.
Stay cool, #TueNighters ― we got this!

#ThrowbackThursday #TBT #TueNighters #JustGettingStarted
We love sharing amazing stories with our community of grown-ass women and our chat with Theo Kogan and Jeanne Fury during our TueNighter Tea was definitely the highlight of last week.
We chatted about their new book "Fallopian Rhapsody: The Story of the Lunachicks" about a band of #GrownAssWomen telling their story honestly, freely, and unafraid - here's a snippet of Theo reading an excerpt from their book:
"Pooping, farting, burping, and getting our periods feature in a bunch of our songs. Never in a million years did we think a f**king fart would be considered a political statement, but for women especially shame is associated with body stuff."
There were so many more behind the veil moments you don't want to miss — dive into our no-holds-barred chat about the Lunachicks up on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEkRw_u3paI

How To Talk to Kids About Race
We had such an awesome time chatting with Uju Asika during our TueNighter Tea, last week — Uju shared fantastic advice on how (and when) to talk to kids about race:
"Your child is getting so many messages from society, about who matters more and who deserves more, so it's really important for parents to be proactive and start talking."
There were so many more moving and profound moments you don't want to miss — you can catch more great tips, along with our entire chat with Uju, up on our YouTube channel, linked here: https://bit.ly/3w8zlF4 #TueNighters
