The Competition will launch a new era in classical Chinese dance, making this ancient Chinese culture renowned and promoting purely authentic traditional dance that is pure goodness, and pure beauty. Classical Chinese dance is grounded in 5,000 years of China’s divinely inspired culture, passed down continuously within the imperial palace and ancient Chinese theater and opera. Soaking up profound
wisdom from every era and dynasty, it has become a complete system of dance embodying traditional aesthetic principles with its unique dance movements, rhythms, and inner meaning. The Competition consists of four divisions: Adult Division Female and Male, age 18-40; Junior Division Female and Male, age 13-17. For each round, every contestant performs a solo routine and a set of required movements in front of judges. We invite the first class choreographers, directors and principle dancers from Shen Yun Performing Arts to form the judging panel. Shen Yun Performing Arts is a world class touring company featuring classical Chinese dance and music. Many winners of this Competition have become principle dancers in Shen Yun.
