"The Wall of a Gambian Woman's Community" is a list of anonymous people, not listed by name, but rather by the role they take in the life of a Gambian woman. This is intended to show the range of community that Gambian women know and want to express concern about attempts to repeal the FGM Law.

We intend to update "The Wall of a Gambian Woman's Community" weekly.

Hello Gambians,

"Keep the FGM Law - The Gambia" is a page created as part of a 2024 graduate academic research project. It is dedicated to spreading community awareness around the recent political push against the 2015 FGM Law enacted in The Gambia. We on this page do not support the repeal, as the tradition of FGM practice has been proven to be harmful to the health and wellbeing of young women and girls. We support a health and education focused lens in conversations around FGM.

In part of spreading this community awareness, we are attempting to start a process called "The Wall of a Gambian Woman's Community". In this process, we want to offer the Gambian community an anonymous one-minute survey to gauge those affected by the possible repeal of this law.
