Newborn Baby Wouldn’t Stop Crying No Matter What Parents Did — Then They Checked the Crib and Froze...
When our daughter Lily was born, Daniel and I thought we were ready—diapers, feedings, colic—we’d prepared for it all. We’d spent months baby-proofing our cottage and setting up her lavender nursery.
But nothing prepared us for what happened two weeks after her birth.
That night, Lily cried uncontrollably. It wasn’t her usual cry—it was urgent, desperate. Her diaper was clean, she refused milk, and nothing—rocking, humming, soothing—helped.
Daniel tried too, dancing with her and playing a music box. Her cries only got louder.
The clock struck midnight. I sat down in the rocking chair, exhausted, tears prickling my eyes. “What’s wrong with her?” I whispered. “We’ve tried everything.”
Daniel was pacing, equally distressed. “Maybe we should call the pediatrician?”
But before he could reach for the phone, Lily’s cries stopped. Just like that. Silence.
