As I boarded the plane my mind raced; I was going to Africa. Fourteen hours, no Wi-Fi, and no legroom. All I had was a book, a journal, and the collection of seven songs I had downloaded to my phone. As we soared past thousands of miles of open ocean my mind entered a contemplative …

Happy Father's Day!!

“My daughter has kept the child within me alive. I personally hope to help as many children I as I can — to at least enable them to know the best things in life, like my daughter does.” — Subodh Vijapure, Emergency Program Manager

This #FathersDay we're sending a special THANK YOU to the hundreds of amazing Concern dads who go to work every day to help others — often spending time away from their own families. And thank you also to those families, who so generously share their dads with us. You make everything we do possible!

UNICEF has reported that 380,000 Syrian child refugees are missing formal education in Turkey. This absence of education could leave an entire generation of uneducated citizens. Concern Worldwide US is working to change that by developing programs like transportation and cash assistance programs to make access to schooling easier and informal education programs for children to transition to the Turkish formal system.
