So VERY excited to share my book cover for Where There Be Humans, a book that has been in the making for a very, very long time!!! I fell in love with it the moment I saw it!

Where There Be Humans will release on June 1, 2020...

Blurb:
Sixteen-year-old Ivy Archer is arguably the best warrior-in-training Gob Hollow has ever seen. Yet everyone—except her best friend she suddenly has other feelings for—looks down on her because she's only half goblin, with no idea what the other half is. She’s always suspected it might be human.

But humans, she’s been told, aren’t real. They’re only creatures of myth.

When the prince of their kingdom is taken for ransom, it’s Ivy's big chance to prove her worth. And when she learns his captors are human, the rescue mission becomes personal. The stories were clearly wrong, and now she has a chance to find the truth about her lineage, as well. If she survives…

With a small band of warriors at her command, including her best friend turned crush that’s getting harder to hide, Ivy sets out to find the prince and her human family. But the answers lie within secrets and conspiracies that run far deeper than she ever imagined.

Shannyn Schroeder is not alone. Love leverage

It's TV Tuesday time and I've been waiting to talk about this one. I already had posts written for last month when news broke that Leverage is getting a reboot. Those of you who have been following me for a while have probably heard me mention my love for this show.

When it first aired, I was immediately drawn in - a group of thieves who band together to steal things for people in need. For those of us of a certain age, who grew up watching the A-Team, this show has a similar vibe, but it was more high-tech and savvy because the team consists of a grifter, a hitter, a hacker, and a thief to go along with the mastermind. Watching this team come together - all people who previously only worked alone - is so much fun.

When we talk about things like found family, this is one of my best examples. They get each other and make each other better. And don't even get me started on Hardison and Parker. Their relationship is romance gold - and we never see them sleep together. Through each season we watch as they become closer and click.

The heists are fun and usually complicated, but so much fun to watch. If you are an Amazon Prime member, you can watch all the seasons on IMDB TV - for FREE!

The new season is going to air on IMDB and most of the original cast is going to be part of it. It might air as early as next year (assuming they will be allowed to start filming this summer as planned).

As a side note, the series I'm working on to release next year is totally inspired by my love for Leverage. A group of thieves working together to help people and they create a family along the way. I'm loving writing it and I've dropped Easter eggs all through the books referencing Leverage and other heist movies and shows.

Have you watched Leverage? Will you tune in for the new series?

Mark your calendars. This should be fun. And important. https://www.unicefwontstop.org/

Sitting on pins and needles. I could hardly wait to share with you....Matt Carter's latest: BENNYTOWN:

Do you like Bunnys?

For nearly sixty years, Bennytown has been Americas most exciting family theme park destination. Under the watchful eye of cultural icon Benny the Bunny, the park has entertained generations of children with its friendly atmosphere and technologically innovative rides. Park founder Fletcher Dorian s dream lives to this day, with Bennytown acting as a beacon of joy and wonder, where magic is real and dreams come true. Bennytown once saved sixteen-year-old Noel Hallstroms life, and to repay it, Noel has applied for a summer job. Though the work is messy and the hours are bad, Noel is happy to be a part of the Bennytown family, until he sees the darkness beneath the surface. Strange, mechanized mascots walk the park perimeter. Elegantly dressed cultists in wooden Benny masks lurk in the darkness. Spirits of the many who have died in the park roam freely, and every night the park transforms into a dark dimension where madness reigns and monsters prowl. Noel is about to find out more about Bennytown than he ever wanted to know, and that its darkness might have designs on him.

Matt's publisher is Owl Hollow Press, LLC.

Book releases on June 23, 2020.

I also watched this show Shannyn Schroeder however in the end of the last season it certainly got a little crazy.

It's TV Tuesday time. This week I'm going to talk about a show I've watched from the beginning, and I still tune in even though for a season or 2 it got weird. Blacklist.

I LOVE the premise of this show. One of FBI's most wanted criminals - a man who has built a criminal empire for 30 years - walks into the FBI and turns himself in, but he'll only talk to one agent in particular.

James Spader plays Raymond "Red" Reddington, the criminal. I love him as an actor so I was on board to watch him in this role. He is the ultimate anti-hero. He's a bad guy, but you like him because he's charming and witty and he is doing good. He cuts a deal with the FBI to help them catch all the criminals on the blacklist - these are the worst of the worst. The catch is, he has to be free so no one knows he's working with the FBI. So, of course, putting these blacklisters away helps his criminal enterprise.

Agent Elizabeth Keane is the profiler who he insists on working with. She's fresh from the academy and we immediately know that there's something else there. Reddington has been following Elizabeth her whole life. We start to wonder if he is her long-lost dad.

The first couple of seasons are filled with intriguing cases and a lot of is he/isn't he her father? How bad is Reddington? Then there are a couple of seasons where they kind of go off the deep in plot wise, but I stuck with them, mostly for Red. I think most, if not all, seasons are on Netflix. Part of me wants to do a rewatch to see how it holds up now that I know where it's going.

Nice and up close. On Wendy Tyson

Dawn Ius catches up with Wendy Tyson to discuss Wendy's new 1st in series mystery A DARK HOMAGE in a feature on The Big Thrill. “I wanted to create a character who very much knows who she is, who is both resilient and vulnerable, tough and caring,” Wendy says. “Delilah is a former cowgirl turned private investigator. Born in the American West, she grew up working alongside her cowboy father. She believed she would follow in his footsteps—until he died in a freak accident, an accident for which she blames herself. Delilah and her mother never really got along, and when Delilah’s mother remarried and moved east, Delilah had to reinvent herself.” Check out more of what Wendy has to say about this exciting new series! https://downandoutbooks.com/bookstore/tyson-dark-homage/

I'm in a short story kind of mood today.

I wrote this a few years ago.
It's called The Slide, and Rosie still feels so real to me.
Someday, I'd love to discover her whole story.
But for now, this is enough ❤

Happy BIRTHDAY WEEK Shannyn Schroeder

Wordy Wednesday - Since it's my birthday week, I'm choosing a snippet from one of my favorite heroes, Jimmy O'Malley. He's such a dumb dude sometimes - he doesn't talk, he bosses people around, and like my writer friends point out, he just makes you want to say, "F**king Jimmy" as you roll your eyes. But I've him anyway because even with all of his faults, he's a good guy who's loyal and caring.
