Why do people hate their job?

“Employers pay just enough for people not to quit, and employees work just enough not to get fired”

Of course there’s a scale to this sentence, and it couldn’t be more true.

The reason is that self interest that prevails in all aspects of life, business being the most obvious example, keeps everyone in the organization focused on their best interests.

The science of leadership and the hierarchal structure demands a certain level of relationship building in the organization.

Relationships are built when the staff feels that their superiors are looking out for them and have their best in mind.

The interesting thing is that this direction allows for the highest level of motivation and engagement to perform one’s duties and responsibilities.

Research shows that building a correct structure of relationships in an organization increases production more than any other means of motivation, including financial. But is also the most difficult to establish.

This Blew My Mind! 🤯

My self esteem was ruining my business!

Look, I know I’m good at what I do. I can spend 10-15 minutes looking at a business, at a person, read what they write, and connect on the most inner part of that person, giving them a vision of how their life and business can be, and how.

There is no reason a professional should not be having EVERYTHING they want when working their craft.

And yet, I didn’t have what I wanted.

Why?!?

I am new to this industry, I don’t have years of experience behind my back. I just have a darned incredible gift, and it can, has, and does help people turn their businesses 180.

And all that is nonsense. The way you raise your self esteem, is to have someone else who believes in you, and sees us as who we can be, and who we really are...

Gradually, we begin to believe it, and here, everything changes.

I stopped resisting. 🛑

Just read a news article about thousands of retailers are closing shop. Going out of business. 🏦

Some are freaking out. Others, see it is as simple evolution.

I see it in my own behavior. I’d rather shop online for most things. I get it within a day or two, and I don’t even have to leave to house for it.

♻️At a time where we are more interconnected than we’ve been in the history of humanity, on the flip side, people just can’t be bothered.

✅As business owners we can judge this human nature phenomenon, or accept it, understand it, and work towards it.

✅The less friction there is between the consumer and our product, the more business we will attract 🧲, the more we grow. And who doesn’t want growth?

Why won’t most do it?

✅It means that we, as providers of goods and services, need to take most of the friction on us.

Because in addition to getting what I want, there’s a bonus. I didn’t care about the discounts, I cared about that bonus!!

This is exactly why people love to shop. They need to feel that they get MORE than what they are paying for...

Whatever it is. Whatever the cost (and it’s usually minor), you gain loyalty, and keep the integrity of your service / product.

Not because I don’t want to. If it would get more business, sure. But it doesn’t. Not long term.

💸 What it does is it focuses attention on money. Not service. And so as a client I no longer think of the benefit I may get from your service. But on the money I save or spend.

You no longer are seen as a professional. You’re a poor marketer. And your service sucks. But i’ll get it because it’s cheap enough.

💬Instead, words are key. Add value.

Discounts are addicting, free isn’t.

Give away free service / product.
