A customer sent me a disturbing photo of Sam spending time with her little sister at Dollywood yesterday, as she appeared to be smiling and enjoying her first weekend off of this year.

I will be sitting her down later to privately discuss what's going on with her and try to figure out exactly what Dolly had to offer that she apparently isn't experiencing here.

Okay, new chicken mom here, and I need to know if anyone else has experienced this absolute madness! I went to lock up the coop and realized two of my girls were missing. Found a pile of feathers and immediately assumed the neighborhood fox had a snack. Fast forward an hour: I pull into my work parking lot, and the attendant walks up, points, and asks, “Is that yours?” Y’all. I turn around and there is ONE OF MY CHICKENS casually strolling through the lot. She ran right up to me, and now she’s chilling in my car waiting for my husband to come rescue her. So here is my question: Is it actually possible that this bird hitched a ride underneath my Ford Expedition and survived me doing 70mph down the highway?! Please tell me I’m not crazy! 🐔🚗💨🤯

Building a beautiful brick basket weave patio stops muddy shoes from ruining your indoor rugs and gives you a perfectly flat floor for summer dining.

Grass never grows well right next to outdoor stairs because constant foot traffic packs the dirt down and destroys the delicate roots. Setting up chairs on a bare lawn leaves you with wobbly seats and dirty shoes every time the ground gets wet. A permanent brick floor solves these problems by creating a hard surface that handles heavy rain without turning into a muddy swamp.

The classic basket weave pattern makes a boring backyard look like a historic courtyard and provides a clean zone to take off your garden boots before going inside. This specific layout uses groups of bricks to create a woven look that is incredibly strong and resists shifting much better than straight lines.

Start by digging out the grass and soil to a depth of six inches to make room for a heavy foundation. Lay down a sheet of professional grade landscape fabric to separate the dirt from your base materials and stop hidden w**d seeds from coming up. Fill the hole with four inches of crushed limestone gravel and pack it down tight with a heavy hand tamper until it feels like a sidewalk.

Pour one inch of coarse builder sand over the gravel and use a long flat wooden board to scrape the sand until it is perfectly level. Place your clay paving bricks onto the smooth sand by laying two bricks side by side pointing forward and the next two side by side pointing sideways. Alternate this pattern across the entire patio and tap each brick gently with a rubber mallet so they sit perfectly flush with the ones next to them.

Sweep polymeric sand into the cracks between the bricks and mist it with a garden hose to lock the whole floor together like a strong glue. Plant soft border flowers like purple May Night salvia and creeping Angelina stonecrop around the edges to soften the hard lines of the new patio.

One thing I’ve learned being married to him,
NEVER doubt him.

And if you’ve got a man out there trying, building, figuring it out as he goes…hype him up. Respect him. Let him lead.

There’s something different about a man who shows up every day and works with his hands to build a life for his family.

I promise you…when you stop doubting him and start standing beside him, you’ll see a whole new side of him.

And it might just become your favorite thing to watch too 🤗
