My yard sale find of the day, you guys!! 😍🪑 I managed to snag these barstools for just $5 each—yes, FIVE dollars! 😂🙌 There was absolutely no way I was passing up a bargain like that. I’d say today’s treasure hunting was definitely a success! 💸✨

I ended up bringing this chicken home from an auction because no one else wanted it, and I felt bad leaving it behind. 🥺❤️🐔 I thought it was possibly a frizzle that had been picked on and had lost a lot of feathers, but now I’m starting to wonder if something else is going on. I’ve had it for over a month, it’s currently kept away from other chickens, and there still hasn’t been any noticeable feather regrowth. Has anyone dealt with this before or have an idea what it might be? 🤔🙏

Success! 🙌🐔 I’ve been working on this chicken watering setup, and I’m so glad I stuck with it because it really works! 💧 First, the water on the outside is only because I filled it too full—nothing is leaking. 😂 I used an insulated water cooler/ice chest along with chicken ni***es and cooler adapters I found on Amazon. A better insulated cooler will obviously hold the water temperature longer. I take hot water straight from the faucet, add it to the colder water, and fill the container about halfway. This morning it was 6°F outside, and when I checked it there wasn’t any ice at all! 😲👏 The best part is that it should also help keep their water cool during those blazing hot summer days. ☀️🐓 And if the lid ever freezes shut, just pour a little hot water around the rim—it releases almost immediately. This project was definitely worth pursuing! ❤️

So apparently Ole Phil woke up yesterday and decided he no longer respected my husband’s authority 😂🐓💀 Last night, this crazy rooster snuck up from behind and attacked him, and suddenly our backyard turned into a full-blown WWE match. Chairs were thrown, my husband tried kicking Phil away several times, and every single time Phil came charging back ready for another round! 🥊😂 By the time I got outside, hubby was just about ready to line him up for a field goal and launch him over the roof. I was laughing so hard while also realizing this was absolutely NOT funny anymore 😭😂 Ole Phil clearly has no quit in him, but unfortunately for him, he also no longer has a permanent address here. He’ll be moving to his new home Sunday morning! 🐔🧳👋

Nearly cooked myself alive hauling and spreading 750 lbs of construction sand in this summer heat, all for the chickens to take one look at it and say, “Absolutely not.” 🥵😂🐔 They’re too scared to walk on it and just keep staring at me like I’ve ruined their entire lives. So glad I did all that work! 😭☀️

While I’m impatiently waiting for my hens to finally start giving me eggs of their own 😂🐔🥚, my parents have been buying theirs from a chicken farmer and always grabbing a couple dozen for me too. This morning I cracked one open, expecting nothing unusual, and then THIS came out! 😳😅 Needless to say, breakfast suddenly became a lot more interesting!

I’m hoping someone can help me understand what may have been going on with one of my hens. She became very sluggish, so I brought her inside and gave her two warm Epsom salt soaks. Her abdomen and back end felt extremely hard, which made me wonder if she might be egg-bound. 🐔😔

After a week and a half indoors, she still hadn’t passed an egg or anything else. I eventually returned her to the flock but kept her separated and protected inside an infirmary pen. Unfortunately, she wasn’t improving, and we ultimately made the heartbreaking decision to cull her. It was incredibly difficult for me, but after seeing what we found afterward, I truly believe it was the kindest decision for her. 💔

Does anyone have an idea what this could be? Could it have been an infection, a reproductive issue, or something else entirely? I would really appreciate any helpful insight. 🙏

My poor ladies are looking really rough lately, and I’m struggling to figure out what’s going on. I’ve checked them carefully and haven’t found any signs of mites or lice. Does anyone know what else might be causing them to look like this? Could they be molting, or should I be concerned about something else? 🐔😟🔍

You guys…my chickens caught a vole today, and absolute chaos broke out in the backyard! 😂🐔🐭 They spent nearly 20 minutes chasing one another around, each trying to steal the prize. Apparently, my sweet little hens transformed into tiny feathered dinosaurs! 🦖🤣
