Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN) offers low cost media education, classes, facilities and equipm

Founded in 1992, Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN) is a public access TV station serving the borough of Manhattan, running five cable channels on the RCN, Spectrum and Verizon FiOS cable systems. We operate two media production and education facilities in Manhattan and offer low-cost training, both online and in person, in video production, editing, and broadcasting to residents who wish to become Certified Producers with MNN. At MNN We actively strive to empower Manhattan residents to exercise their First Amendment rights in an open, uncensored, and equitable forum.

MNN is proud to launch Comedy Access, a series of comedy classes, shows, and productions to support emerging comedians all over NYC and help them reach new audiences, improve their production quality, and refine their material — all free of charge.

This class is designed for experienced improvisers who miss the days of getting notes and experimenting in a classroom environment. We will focus on three areas: looking at ways to re-apply improv basics through the lens of a veteran perspective, personal recommendations and notes for each participant, and an effort to find forms and performances unique to the chemistry of those in the room.

If you are someone who has reached a level of experience and proficiency to the point where you rarely get notes, and you miss those days, this class is for you.

Meet the inaugural residents of the Data Storytelling Leadership Residency.

Through a new partnership between the Nellie Mae Education Foundation Nellie Mae Ed Foundation and MNN, 12 leaders from across New England are transforming research, data, and community insights into stories that can engage the public and influence change.
Next week, they will come together at MNN W38 Studios for an intensive production residency—and this fall, we will share the 12 projects they create.

Earlier this week, MNN President and CEO Joe Hall and our team welcomed NYC Department of Cultural Affairs NYC Dept of Cultural Affairs Commissioner Diya Vij and her colleagues to MNN’s Hudson Yards Studios.

We were grateful for the opportunity to share how MNN supports New York City artists and cultural organizations through affordable access to professional production facilities, emerging technology, training, residencies, paid creative opportunities, and public platforms.
