Facilitator: Dr. Naida Zukić, Associate Professor in the Speech, Communications, and Theatre Arts Department
You are all invited to a Mass Media workshop tomorrow (Wednesday) 2-3:45 PM in Room F204 by Professor Naida Zukić.
___________
Media narratives have a powerful cultivation effect helping to shape cultural attitudes and opinions about gender roles/expectations. The workshop explores theories of gender hegemony as represented in video games. More specifically, we will examine the ways in which gender stereotypes and media representations of women’s deaths in video games normalize, maintain, and perpetuate systemic and institutional sexism.
Join us tomorrow at 2 pm. Room F204.

Who run the world? GIRLS!!!
Words cannot express how grateful we are for these drive phenomenal women who made yesterday’s event possible.
From left they are Davisha Davis (event organizer and Founder of @projectvinc), Charell Star (Director of Content and Innovation at Essence Marketing), Sandra Okeluru (Stylist and Costume Designer), Jasmine Stein ( Director of Brand Strategy and Creative Services), Brandi Hunter (VP of PR and Communications at the American Kennel Club), and Kesha Brown (Founder of Brown Resumes, Inc.).
