Ark Media

Ark Media A Documentary Film and TV Production Company

Founded in 1996 by Barak Goodman and Rachel Dretzin, Ark was created to be a vehicle for the films they both felt privileged to make. Together with longtime collaborator, John Maggio, Goodman and Dretzin have grown Ark Media into a hub for large multi-part series and smaller, one-off films. Recognized as nurturer of young talent, Ark has grown to include dozens of accomplished and passionate filmmakers working together and separately. Ultimately, it's about the work: projects with intellectual depth, strong narrative and the ability to challenge viewers to reach their own conclusions. While setting a standard for excellence, Ark thrives because of a dynamic, engaged, and passionate group of people assembled for a common purpose: to collaborate on meaningful projects.

HOPE & FURY: MLK, The Movement & The Media
Premiering Saturday March 24th on NBC!

Marking the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. King in Memphis, HOPE & FURY: MLK, THE MOVEMENT AND THE MEDIA is a gripping account of American history told like never before by an all-star lineup of civil rights leaders, pioneering African-American reporters who chronicled the movement, journalists from across generations, as well as present-day activists who have adopted the tactics of their forbearers to shine a light on inequality in the modern era. The film offers a fresh look at the historic civil rights movement and combines first-hand personal recollections with rare, archival footage and photographs – some of which will be broadcast on network television for the first time.
