NYWICI launches #WomenHeard, a multi-platform programming initiative to spotlight and reverse the trend of women exiting the workforce due to Covid-19. Once we understand the ‘why’ and what it means for our industry, together, we can provide actionable tools, resources and open dialogue to help companies bring women back to a much better environment where they can experience growth throughout their careers no matter their talent level, ethnicity, race or age. Ultimately, we need to reimagine the workplace to better serve women, while correcting the disparities that existed pre-Covid.” Ashley Miles, President of NYWICI and CEO of Franklyn West. Thank you for creating a lovely space for women to learn and connect! I just watched Queen of Hearts: Audrey Flack which is a documentary that shows the struggles Audrey Flack faced as a female artist and mother; I believe she would have loved to have a female community like this while maneuvering through her career! I found the film on Film Festival Flix, an online streaming service with films that have been screened at different film festivals. I love that Film Festival Flix has a ton of films with female leads!
During a pandemic, even though we must maintain social distancing, that does not mean we cannot still find ways to uplift each other. Women empowerment is also something we should all take part in doing. It’s hard enough for us women already to constantly try to be noticed. I was inspired after watching “Queen of Hearts: Audrey Flack” on Film Festival Flix. Seeing how she always was driven throughout her career portrayed the true meaning of ambition. Her out-of-the-ordinary art is something I truly praised her for as well. It’s not easy trying to make a name for yourself in the art industry and she let her success prove so many people wrong. With the Ashland Independent Festival streaming on Film Festival Flix, you can get access to over 100 films and live a film festival experience all while never leaving your home. They have a lot of other films that portray women’s empowerment and success as well! If you would like to check out this unique opportunity, I highly suggest checking out this online streaming platform
