Happy Featured Founder Friday! ✨It is our pleasure to introduce you to Helena Barquet + Fabiana Faria - owners of Coming Soon New York, a home and contemporary design vintage furniture store. 🛋 One of the biggest challenges Helena and Fabiana have found in the industry has been finding the right financing for their business. Entrepreneurship can often be a male dominated world, so finding the right fit when it comes to finances is key. 🔑 They haven’t let this slow them down. They have quickly grown into a hip must-shop spot in NYC. They allowed this challenge to push them into becoming stronger and more determined leaders. Thanks for being our Friday inspo, ladies!

Happy Feature Founder Friday! ✨ Meet dance entrepreneur Jessica Mitcham, founder of JAMdancer. In 2015, Jessica found herself with time and a need to generate some extra income to support her family. She had taken off some time from dancing because she was pregnant at the time, and her friends were asking her for advice with booking and project management. She took this opportunity to convert her personal artist site into a site focused on booking and project management in the dance sphere. JAMdancer has a wide variety of  components: JAMpress Management which offers artist management services, JAMstation which is a video blog, JAMshop which is a retail hub for dancewear, and various calendars which share classes, auditions, workshops, performances and more.

Happy Feature Founder Friday! ✨ This week, we are highlighting 2 incredible women-- Annie & Terrie Chang, sisters and co-founders of Olea & Fig. Annie and Terrie both had prestigious degrees and corporate titles, but they reached a point of burnout, feeling chained to their jobs with little time for actual human connection or self-care. Realizing that they wanted to make a life rather than just a living, they quit their corporate jobs and leveraged their joint backgrounds in design and marketing. They partnered together to create Olea & Fig, a marketing company that teaches other women entrepreneurs how to successfully market and brand their own businesses. Their aim is essentially to help women like themselves to turn their ideas into action and transform their passion into a fulfilling and successful career.

Happy Featured Founder Friday! ✨ This week’s boss lady is Phoebe Gormely-- a barrier breaker in more ways than one. Phoebe has been obsessed with textiles since she was young and started interning around the famous Savile Row, a street in central London known principally for its traditional tailoring for men, when she was 15. 🧵 🪡 In 2014, she started her own business when she was only 21. She moved to Savile Row and opened the first ever women-only store on the street. Gormely & Gamble, or G&G, aims to redefine the classics beautifully, elegantly and simply-- by women for women. 🤩

It’s the First Featured Founder Friday of 2021! 💛 In the spotlight this week is Jasmine Jefferson, avid gardener and founder of Black Girls that Garden. 🪴 Jasmine got into gardening in 2013 and in 2017, she founded Black Girls who Garden with a goal of reaching out to connect to other Black women who garden. But only a week after creating her platform, Jasmine decided to change her whole mission, realizing that there was a need for a virtual community base in reference to gardening. Since then, Black Girls Who Garden has become a digital resource for women of color to find support, inspiration, education, and representation in gardening. 🌻 While her platform is community-based, Jasmine currently runs everything on her own. Her website and platform is part shop and part community meeting ground, complete with blog posts, resources, and features. Thanks for being our Friday inspo, Jasmine! ✨

Happy Feature Founder Friday! ✨Today, we are celebrating Michelle Cordeiro Grant, the co-founder and CEO of LIVELY. After discovering her passion for creating and empowering impactful brands, Michelle created LIVELY in 2016. Since then, it has raised $15 million in funding and fostered an 85,000-member ambassador network. With Michelle’s expertise, LIVELY has created a new take on lingerie, one that blurs the aesthetic lines between lingerie, active, and swim.👙It takes the best elements of high-style and comfort from each category and lives up to the term that Michelle herself coined: “leisurée.”

Happy Featured Founder Friday! ✨Meet Christina Strembel-- entrepreneur, flower-lover, and really, really hard worker. Christina founded Farmgirl Flowers from the ground-up in 2010 with $49,000 from her personal savings, and today, her now multimillion-dollar business is supported by a team of over 180 people. When first getting her company up and running, Christina would go to bed at 12 or 1 am and would wake up at 3:30 am every morning to go to the flower market. 🌻 She has her hand in every department, from finance to marketing to operations. Thanks for being an inspiration for young entrepreneurs everywhere, Christina! 💛

Happy Feature Founder Friday! ✨ Today’s incredible woman entrepreneur is Kenesha Sneed-- designer, creative, and founder of Tactile Matter. Kenesha studied digital media at design school and spent years working as a motion graphics designer and Art Director. In an effort to try something new, Kenesha enrolled in a ceramics class and fell in love with the hands-on nature of the craft. 👐🏽 Not long after, Kenesha acquired her own studio space and launched Tactile Matter as an independent artist. She still works with illustration and design, but now her love of the arts has expanded to the tangible. 🎨 Thanks for being our friday inspo, Kenesha! 💡

The sad fact is that today, in 2019, only 2% of companies that have a full female founding team get funded. That's right, only 2%. The percentage barely increases if the founding team involves a man and a woman, 3,5%. The truth is that it's not easy to be a woman in the entrepreneurial world which i...
