Submit your work to The Underground!

This is the official call for submissions for Volume 20! If you want to submit your work or know someone who does, here are the guidelines:

1. We accept short stories, poetry, and artwork of any kind. However, if you are submitting a picture of anything other than a photograph, please make sure it is in high resolution. Therefore, don't submit pictures captured by your phone's camera.

2. You can submit as many pieces as you'd like, but one document attachment per piece of work.

3. A note for simultaneous submissions: it takes us about 2-3 months to get back to you if you submit your work. If your piece of work is accepted in another publication before that time, please notify us.

4. Please do not put your name or watermark on the piece of work. We vote anonymously and it'll save time to remove your name from the document. We will email you back if it gets accepted for your watermarked picture if you would prefer that.

5. Please include a small artist biography with your submission email.

6. Please submit to [email protected]

"My lungs are my poetry, my eyes a book"

Now more than ever, many in this country need a reminder that different does not mean inhuman, that foreign does not mean enemy. I have always believed in the power of art and storytelling to accomplish this. Read these poems.
