Today I had the worst experience of my life at L/CPL Thomas P. Noonan Jr. Playground as I like to call “Rainbow park” this man assaulted my 8yr old child today and there were different witnesses I confronted him about the situation and he said that some kids insulted his wife yesterday (he wasn’t there with her when it happen)he simply assumed it was my child and put hands on him immediately. my child was so scared and he was crying because he smacked my sons chest hard and I called the police and the police said they couldn’t do anything unless my child needed an ambulance this is the world we living in where anybody can put there hands on any child . I can not wrap my head around the fact that he goes around hitting a 8year old (the wrong child) him having children of him own ,anyone as a parent blood would boil to see a grow man even yelling at their child at a park that they take just to play not to get hit .This cannot happen on our neighborhood and and it’s crazy that his wife wasn’t there to even point out a child who cursed at her he just took it out on the only children that was there at the park. Hopefully moms and dads can be on the look out for this man who has anger issues. Us as parent we have to be more alert of who Approaching our children.
Hi, I grew up in Sunnyside and my family still lives there. I'm posting here because I'm trying to secure a permanent home for a cat I recently took in. I am willing to fly her on the airplane (I have LOTS of airline miles). I am not asking for any compensation. I am simply searching for a permanent home for her where she will be well cared for and loved. I live in Puerto Rico and found her a few weeks ago. Since then I have taken her to the vet to receive medical treatment. She is around 5-6 years old, and at the vet I discovered that she had already been spayed (perhaps she had a previous owner). She had hookworm and dermatitis due to a flea allergy, which she has since been treated for. I have made sure she is up to date on all her vaccines, including the vaccine against FIV (for which she tested negative). She can be a bit skittish at first, but she soon warms up to you and is a big sweetheart. I am looking for a home where she would preferably be the only cat (I don't think she'd do well with dogs given her past as a stray, maybe with other cats). She has limited vision due to scarring on her eyes (perhaps from a herpes virus, according to the vet, or maybe the strong UV sun rays in Puerto Rico). Also, because of her flea allergy, she would need to be an indoor cat. Please let me know if you think you might be interested or if you can help in the search. Thank you!

Giving Tuesday is around the Corner (Next Week to be exact) and this year I'm supporting The Salvation Army in Astoria Queens. My Goal is simple - to raise $1000.00 with their virtual Kettle Fundraiser. I even have a friend that will match dollar for dollar every donation I receive in my Virtual Kettle - no matter the amount! Would you help me to reach my goal? Just a few examples of how your money can be used: a $5.00 donation can help a child to receive one free music lesson, $25.00 can feed a family of 2 in the Food Pantry for one week or serve 10 hot meals in their soup kitchen, $50.00 can feed a family of 4 in the Food Pantry for one week or serve 20 hot meals in the soup kitchen. Did I also mention they assist with rent, Christmas toys and clothing for children, $10 can help one individual to clean clothing, towels, and toiletries in the Homeless Shower Program. They have so many wonderful programs would you consider a donation today? I have attached the link so you can check out my fundraiser. Thanks for reading! Happy Holidays!
