My top 10 favourite animal encounters of 2024 ‼️ Number 8 (Green Tree Python) πŸŽ₯🌏✨🐍 After road-tripping by myself 35hrs north and trekking deep into a remote rainforest located in the top end of Australia, words can’t describe the feeling when I finally laid my eyes on this beautiful snake. My top 10 favourite animal encounters of 2024 ‼️ Number 9 (King Cobra) πŸŽ₯🌏✨🐍 Believe it or not, we found this individual while exploring the jungles of Western Bali 🐾 with no anti-venom for this species in indonesia, getting bitten is NOT an option.

Everyone say hi to Rawa, an 11-year-old male orangutan we were lucky enough to spend time with on my first trip to Borneo in 2023 🦧🌏✨ The goal of the trip was to highlight the devastating deforestation happening across the region and document the animals most affected by it. What it became, though, was one of the most unforgettable and inspiring experiences of my life, tracking King Cobras, Saltwater Crocodiles, eating so many Durians, and connecting with some incredible people who are my Bornean brothers for life. 🀎

Is the β€œextinct” Tasmanian Tiger still alive? ⁉️ The last confirmed sighting of the Zanzibar leopard was in 1996. After that, there were no verified reports, and it was widely considered extinct, until 2020, when its status was reassessed. For perspective: Zanzibar has around 1.8 million people. Tasmania, though 40 times larger, has about 1.2 million fewer. 🀯 With β€œextinct” species being rediscovered around the world every year, it raises an intriguing question… 🐾 Could there still be a small, hidden population of thylacines? Perhaps in Papua New Guinea, mainland Australia, or deep within Tasmania, waiting to be found again.

Are King Cobras the most impressive snakes on Earth? ⁉️ We found this large male while searching for King Cobra nests in Bali, Indonesia. King cobras are the ONLY snake known to build a nest for their eggs, the female gathers leaves and debris into a mound and guards it aggressively until the eggs hatch. 🐍

My top 10 favourite animal encounters of 2024 ‼️ Number 5 (Komodo Dragon) πŸŽ₯🌏✨🀎 this is the worlds largest species of lizard reaching lengths of over three meters and weighing over 100kgs (after a feed). The biggest lizard that has ever roamed this earth was a relative of these Komodo Dragons called Megalania, Varanus Priscus. They lived on mainland Australia as recent as 40,000 years ago and grew to lengths of over 7 meters!

My top 10 favourite animal encounters of 2024 ‼️ Number 6 (Tasmanian Tiger) πŸŽ₯🌏✨🐍 Learning about the details of this beautiful creatures demise was one of the most heartbreaking projects I filmed this year πŸ’” A scene that I can’t remove from my head is the exact moment the LAST Tasmanian Tiger died in the wilderness of Tasmania after being hunted to extinction by humans in the early 1900s. Do you think there’s a chance that these Thylacines could still roam the forests of Tasmania to this day?

My top 10 favourite animal encounters of 2024 ‼️ Number 7 (Funnel-Web Spider) πŸŽ₯🌏✨🐍 Australia has some of the most venomous creatures on earth and believe it or not, this right here is the worlds most venomous spider πŸ•·οΈπŸ•ΈοΈ I believe there has been thirteen fatalities recorded from this species however, since an anti-venom was created in 1981, zero deaths have occurred. Amazing to see humans co-existing with such deadly creatures everyday.
