I love to make things I dont wear
i made this sweater, like i have many others and i just look at it sitting in my closet. i love a chunky knit i just dont have the patience to make anything with below like 6mm needles. i used caron cakes or some other caron striping yarn for this and i just hate the way it feels. it makes me sweat but is not absorbant. cotton yarn is always stretching and hard to find in thicker yarns, wool is hard to wash and itchy and expensive. what do i do? does anyone have any yarn suggestions that dont feel horrible to wear but aren’t insanely expensive? ive knit and crocheted for over ten years and i barely wear what i make except for the occasional cardigan. any suggestions would be so appreciated! thank you!

My wedding shawl!
Just got married in Glacier National Park last month and I knit the Mallorn Shawl by j kolette beckert and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out!! It was very warm and I really only used it towards the end of our day but the 2 months it took to make it were absolutely worth it. I used Berrocco Lanas Light in Spring Green, and I used Miyuki Seed Beads 6-1F as the main color and 6-23F as the accent color.

Five Shawls Done, More to Come
The Crafty Intentions Feather Wings Shawl was the very first crochet pattern I ever purchased and attempted to read after struggling with terrible abbreviation dyslexia for a very long time. It's become my comfort pattern. I have a sixth currently in the making, but I need different coloured yarns to finish it.

The first two were gifts, one for my wife, and one for my sister, with a tiny shawl for my niece using the Crafty Intentions Microraptor arm feathers. My third shawl won 2nd place in a competition in the summer of 2024. That one, along with the newest two, are joining me to some upcoming markets.

Swan Lake skirt - should I make it longer?
I finished my a day ago, and love it… kind of? I added the ruffles on the bottom on a whim, trying to give it some more detail. I like that it kind of looks Spanish? But the increases in the pattern didn’t give me the amount of skirt I was hoping for, so now I’m debating on adding more on the bottom to compensate for that. What do you guys think? I was thinking another long ruffle from mohair, made with a very loose gauge like the ruffles already are (I used a 7 and 9mm hook on light fi*****ng weight yarn for the loose, airy ruffles)

Other than that though I think this is a gorgeous pattern, I’m definitely gonna make more. It’s quite easy once you get the drop stitch thing down and you can customise it endlessly.

Finished my beach babe!
Beer for scale :) yarn - schachenmeyer catania. Hook - 2.25 (should be smaller but I left my smaller hooks at home and we are at the lake). She is wired and has polyfil beads in her bottom for weight. I made her to donate to our lake community raffle prize table but I’m getting attached :-/ we’ll see. If I donate her I think I’ll make another one with a watermelon bikini (red main, green trim). Pattern for “vacation girl” by Studio WOW Via Etsy

I made my little rat a jumper, and I don't regret it at all 🤭 it's the first time l've ever knitted a jumper, much less a cat jumper, but I think it turned out alright for a first time attempt
