I imagine that everyone has heard about the comically inept hit piece that the NYT published yesterday about Graham Platner. Here's a little fact that they (whoooopsie) left out of their piece.
Here's a fun tweet that her partner in smearing, Bethany Mandel posted on 1/20/2019: "Between the Kavanaugh debacle and now what happened with these MAGA boys, there’s a lot of nervous boy moms and dads out there. If they can and will seek to destroy these guys, they’ll come after yours."
How prescient.
Earlier in the week, Genevieve McDonald (a former staffer of Platner's) decided that she would solidify a future for herself with the democratic establishment by leaking text messages she exchanged with Platner's wife. Like Linda Tripp nearly 30 years ago, she discovered that no one cares what happens in other people's marriages. WHO is going to trust her now?
These lame attacks on Platner by democrats, republicans, and x ion ists (misspelling intentional) of all political stripes are only making him stronger.
We saw the same thing in New York when Mamdani was running. It didn't work then either. The establishment and the x ion ists are trying to stop the REAL populist contagion from spreading. I believe they're fighting a losing battle.
Sure, they will have some victories, but those victories will become fewer and farther between. AIP AC got their lap dog in San Francisco, but CA 22 is sending Randy Villegas to the general. It's looking like Abdul El-Syed is going to win the Michigan Senate primary (and the general). That's TWO progressive senators we're likely to have in the next session. I never imagined that 2 in one year would be possible in my lifetime. We have Analilia Mejia and Adam Hamawy in New Jersey. Brad Lander is 100% going to beat Dan Goldman here in NY. Chris Rabb in PA will definitely be going to Congress in January.
The electorate is changing and I'm here for it.
Lyndsey Fifield co-formed a group called “Ladies for Kavanaugh” in defense of then Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
