Nur Muhammad “Mahi” Shafiullah, a former Bangladeshi International Mathematical Olympiad medalist, has been honored in MIT Technology Review’s 2025 “35 Innovators Under 35” list. Starting his Olympiad journey in 2009–10 and winning multiple medals, he later studied at MIT and earned a PhD at NYU’s Courant Institute. Now a postdoctoral researcher at Berkeley AI Research and Meta AI affiliate, Mahi develops adaptive robot intelligence for real-world human environments. His groundbreaking datasets, adopted by Nvidia, Microsoft, and Google, are shaping the future of robotics while inspiring Bangladesh’s math community.
