We are a theatrical company that brings to the present works from the classical tradition. We call our pieces -theatrical collages- because they stem from a variety of musical, poetic and acting styles. They are often set against a backdrop of images taken from high-art and popular culture and framed by complex lighting, but they depend on austere costume, stage-setting and design.
We are a handful of artists wishing to make the public ponder and laugh, blending vaudeville, contemporary multimedia and a few tricks we imagine the actors of old would have used, had they worked in small theaters and had no need for masks.
HELL was the first part of a trilogy about self-discovery. It was based on Dante's journey into human error, Inferno. It was followed by CONFESSIONS, a piece inspired by the writings of Saint Augustine. DREAMS, a play derived from the early work of Sigmund Freud, when he was on the brink of his "discovery" of the Unconscious, will conclude the trilogy.
Five one-woman monologues about contemporary tragedies inspired by Euripides’ Medea. A Palestinian terrorist. A ninth-grade teacher and child molester. An American soldier based at Abu Ghraib. A mother who drowns her children. A woman who commits su***de in order to frame her husband for murder.
These pieces are set against a backdrop of projected fine-arts and mass-media images. Costume changes take place on stage and choreographed to sections of Cherubini’s Medea.
AND THEN, was selected as one of Best American Short Plays 2006-2007

A play about Augustine of Hippo, a writer who lived during the late Roman Empire, better known as a saint and as a pivotal figure in Western thinking. This is not a work about religion or philosophy. CONFESSIONS is a few artists' exploration of the life of a young man, sensuous and ambitious, in search of what he called his "homminis interioris" - the lover within. A singer, a cellist and a dancer bring to life a variety of characters in Augustine's world and tell us the story of how a man followed the call of a strange force inside himself, who spoke to him out loud.
A tragic love story about the boy who became Emperor Hadrian´s page and paramour. ANTINOUS is the tale of the deep bond between a middle-aged man and a teenager, about their passion, but it is also a look into politics, and into power and powerlessness.
